He may have signed up to Farmer Wants A Wife in search of lasting love – but it seems Farmer Jarrad Wrigley might already be back on the market.

The 22-year-old fan favourite was tipped to find a fairytale ending on the show, but questions are now swirling about the fate of his relationship with frontrunner Chloe, after fans claimed he’s been behaving like a bachelor off-screen.

‘He didn’t act like someone in a relationship,’ one festivalgoer told Daily Mail Australia, alleging they encountered Jarrad at a country music gig in Tamworth back in January – weeks after he reportedly wrapped filming on the show.

‘He was chatting up women left and right. He even joked about being ‘done with dating shows.’ Honestly, it seemed like he was single or just didn’t care who saw.’

Another punter who claims to have seen Jarrad at a rural pub earlier this year echoed the sentiment.

‘There was no mention of a girlfriend. He was pretty flirty. If he’s still with the girl from the show, he’s got a strange way of showing it.’

While Channel Seven has kept a tight lid on how the season ends, speculation is mounting online that Jarrad may have quietly parted ways with his chosen lady – or possibly signed up for the wrong reasons altogether.

Some viewers have questioned whether the aspiring country crooner joined the reality series as a strategic move to boost his public profile and music career.

‘He’s got a good voice and he’s been pushing his music pretty hard,’ said one industry insider.

‘No surprise if he saw this as a launchpad.’

Despite being described by some as ‘one of the nicest blokes you’d ever meet,’ Jarrad, a country musician by trade, has been slammed online by fans who believe the only thing he’s truly chasing is a record deal.

‘I think he was supposed to apply for Australian Idol – he’s looking for a recording deal, not a wife,’ one unimpressed Facebook user wrote.

Another added, ‘So he doesn’t come from a farming background… he doesn’t own a farm… and wants to buy back his great-grandfather’s property from 30 years ago… Is he even a farmer? Or just a guy who sings country and western?’

‘He’s only there for exposure for his music career,’ a third person speculated, while others chimed in with ‘Wrong show, buddy’ and ‘Seems like a nice person, but it’s definitely looking like he’s promoting his music.’

Some loyal viewers came to his defence, pointing out that he does work in agriculture and fits the bill.

‘It’s called Farmer Wants A Wife and he works as a farmer? Doesn’t say Man Who Owns A Farm Wants Wife,’ one person shot back.

Despite the chatter, Chloe has remained tight-lipped on the status of their romance – though fans have noticed her appearing solo at several recent events.

Channel Seven has declined to comment.
