The Block‘s Dan and Dani Reilly have marked six months since they welcomed their late daughter Billie into the world.
And with that, six months since she passed.
The couple announced the passing of their daughter, Billie Vera Reilly, in December 2024 at 10 days old.
“This Sunday 8th June, marks 6 months since we met our beautiful Billie — and almost 6 months since she took her last breath in my arms,” Dani wrote in a powerful Instagram post.
In her honour, Dan and Dani revealed they’ll be embarking on a 100km walking fundraiser to raise funds and awareness for NICU families and infant loss.
The post was accompanied by a beautiful black and white photo of the parents, holding baby Billie in their arms.
“We’ll be walking from Rod Laver > Mornington > Portsea over two days (7th & 8th June) as part of a 100km journey,” Dani explained.
“The walk is led by our friend @emringa, whose nephews Sonny and Bobby were born as micro preemies at Monash Children’s NICU.
“Sonny is now thriving at school, while Bobby passed away at 6 months old, after a life that left an incredible mark on everyone who loved him.”

In her post, Dani made a promise: “We’re walking for Billie. We’re walking for Bobby. We’re walking for every baby who never made it home. For every family walking through the hardest days with courage and love.”
A day earlier, Dani shared a touching memory with Billie’s grandparents, a video of Dani’s mum (“Billie’s nanna”) gently brushing the newborn’s hair.
Re-sharing the beautiful memory to her Instagram Stories, The Block star provided links for anyone who would like to show their support or join them on the walk.
“You can donate via the GoFundMe (for @monashchildrenshospital NICU) or Billie’s Besties (for @theroyalwomens NICU) — both links are in my bio 💛,” she wrote.
Billie’s Besties is a charity fund founded by Dan and Dani in memory of their beautiful daughter.
Dan and Dani shared Billie’s story on her official fundraising page.
“After three long years, our dream of becoming parents finally came true. Through IVF, we conceived our Billie – a much-wanted and deeply loved baby girl. From the very beginning, she was strong, thriving through pregnancy, and we couldn’t wait to meet her.
“But in the moments before her arrival, everything changed. Billie suffered distress during birth, the cause of which will never be known, and her tiny body was deprived of oxygen for too long.
“Despite the incredible efforts of the NICU team, the damage was too severe, and our beautiful Billie was unable to survive.”
Australia came to know and love Dan and Dani in 2012 as contestants on The Block. (Nine)
For 10 days The Women’s NICU became home for Dan, Dani and Billie.
“The doctors, nurses, and staff (affectionately known as ‘Billie’s Besties’) didn’t just care for Billie; they cared for us as a family. They held space for our love, our grief, and our need to make memories in the time we had.”
In honour of Billie, Dan and Dani want to give back to the team that gave them “irreplaceable moments” with their daughter and so far have raised $46,857 of their $100,000 goal.
