we’ll be looking at the latest update from the police, because they’ve shared some important information—and the sighting of Lily and Jack is… very strange.

“We don’t have evidence to suggest that an abduction took place at this time.”
“Is it something you’re still investigating—whether or not they could have been abducted?”
“So, we’re exploring all investigative avenues.”

On the morning of May 2nd, at approximately 10:00 a.m., RCMP officers received a call about two missing children in Landsdown Station. The information at the time was that they had wandered off from the property.

I can tell you, our officers got to the scene very quickly. We were monitoring the situation and hoping to find the children very soon after that.

So, it was a fast response—officers arrived quickly, and it sounds like they expected to find the children right away. But that didn’t happen.

“So, Kayla, what I can tell you—based on experience—you look at missing children cases… I’ve been involved in a handful of them since joining Strategic Communications.
Most often, the children are located very quickly after officers arrive at the scene. That’s our hope every single time—that they simply wandered off and can be found.
I’m sure, like every officer out there, I’m not currently on the road—but your heart is pounding, the adrenaline is rushing—you’re trying to find those children, right?”

This case started just like that—just as they described. Officers thought they’d go in and locate the kids fast.

“Yeah, absolutely. And our officers were nearby already, in an ongoing search for a kayaker who had gone missing the day prior.
I can tell you, I was monitoring the situation remotely, and our officers were getting there as quickly as possible.”

Now, as you’re probably aware, many theories are floating around.

Some people think this might have been a tragic accident, that they simply wandered off into the woods.
But the RCMP has stated they view this case as suspicious.

“So, every missing persons investigation is suspicious until it’s proven not to be.
If we don’t have that information to say it’s not suspicious, we have to continue to assume it is suspicious—access the resources, follow up on tips, and pursue evidence until we locate the missing people.”

So basically—no proof of abduction, but also no proof it didn’t happen.

Still, the key question remains: How do two young children just vanish?

“That’s a great question, Kayla.
We’re asking the public for tips and information. So far, we’ve received close to 500 tips.
We have to follow up on all of them—whether they point to something in the province or elsewhere in the country.
To this day, we have not had any confirmed sightings.”

So, they’re getting tips from all over—but none confirmed.
Still, some of those tips have pointed to other parts of the country, and the RCMP has had to investigate them.

“As with any investigation, we often get tips from other places. We have to verify them. Yes.”

They’ve also stated that the children were last seen alive the day before they were reported missing. That would be May 1st.

But the details of that sighting have not been released.

“We know they were seen in public with loved ones the day prior.
The specifics aren’t being released at this time.”

And that’s strange.

Why would they keep details of the last sighting hidden—unless there’s something about it that’s key to the case?

In fact, the police are asking for surveillance footage going all the way back to April 28th.

“When establishing a timeline in any investigation, you want to know where the individuals were prior.
They may have been in contact with someone we need to identify.
You might see something unexpected—like a license plate from a different angle, or someone known to police.
We’re exploring all investigative avenues in this case.”

Now, a lot of people have asked why no Amber Alert was issued. And here’s what the police had to say:

“Absolutely, Kayla.
On the day of the incident, I was working, and I reviewed the policy that morning.
To issue an Amber Alert, you need a suspect or a vehicle—a person of interest or something specific to direct the public.
In this case, they are vulnerable children, so we issued a Vulnerable Person Alert, but not an Amber Alert.”

So, while they didn’t meet the Amber Alert criteria, they still acknowledged the danger and vulnerability.

Kayla asked:

“Does the RCMP know what happened here? Even if you can’t tell me—do you know?”

“What I can tell you is—we’re exploring all investigative avenues.”

And when asked if they’re building a case:

“The investigation is still being conducted under the Missing Persons Act.”

To that, the journalist responded:

“It kind of seems, from your latest press release, that you don’t know what happened. That’s why I’m asking.”

“You know, when it comes to missing people, it’s very complex. It can become a long-term investigation.
It can be very difficult on first responders—especially when it involves vulnerable people.
We have to be patient, follow the leads, and follow the facts and evidence we’ve gathered to bring us to locating the children.”

So, do they think Lily and Jack could still be alive?

“That’s a great question.
We want to locate them and find them.
Our goal is to investigate every single avenue until we do.”

Now, here’s the strange part—and something that I think deserves more attention:

There has been a confirmed sighting of Lily and Jack on May 1st—but the police will not reveal any specifics.

Why?

If it’s a normal sighting—like a trip to the store or a family walk—why keep that private?

Could it be that something important happened during that sighting? Something that could change how we view this case?

Let me know what you think in the comments down below. Why would the RCMP withhold that information unless it was critical?

Overall, we didn’t get any major updates. And it seems like they aren’t taking the rumors seriously either.

So that means… we’re still stuck in a position where we don’t know what has happened.

Unless we believe the theory that Malaya took Jack and Lily and handed them over to someone in a car.

But are the police actually pursuing that?
Are they believing it, or just noting it as a possibility?

Let us know your thoughts.
