The Montreal Canadiens are back to winning, which is great for the NHL playoff race. However, it seems their rivals have also started winning big games again, which leaves no room for error for Martin St-Louis’ squad.

The Habs cannot afford any mistakes and absolutely must win tonight’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

We really needed the Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild to come through yesterday, but bad news, the Detroit Red Wings (by a score of 5-3) and the New York Islanders (by a score of 3-1) both picked up huge wins, and in regulation time no less.

This is definitely not what the Canadiens were hoping for, but at this point, the only thing the team can control is its performance tonight.

There are also the Ottawa Senators, who are in a playoff spot as a wildcard team, but they’re not very reachable, sitting at 86 points in 75 games played.

Today is shaping up to be another huge day in this incredible playoff race in the East.
