EXCLUSIVE: Millionaire buyer Danny Wallis made his return to The Block this weekend, bidding on two homes and purchasing one – making it his 12th Block buy.

Danny has dropped $45,935,634 on his Block property portfolio over 13 years.

“I always come to The Block, I’m part of it,” Danny told 9Entertainment exclusively, after the auctions. “I liked House 3 and House 5.”

True to form, Danny went head-to-head with buyer’s agents and other registered bidders, eventually nabbing Robby and Mat’s home with his trademark precision bid of $3,099,999.10. “It’s nice,” he said simply.

He was equally impressed by Britt and Taz’s kitchen in House 3 – and with good reason. The pair’s luxe space featured a jaw-dropping $175,000 worth of appliance upgrades.

Danny’s partner couldn’t resist a cheeky jab: “Not that he cooks!”

Despite his admiration, The Block‘s most loyal bidder was ultimately pipped at the post for the high-end home, which sold to a mystery phone bidder represented by a buyer’s agent.

Later, Britt and Taz revealed that Danny told them he suspected the mystery buyer was Adrian Portelli. The pair have a history of tense sparring during Block auctions.

Danny has historically not enjoyed game playing with Adrian. Britt and Taz said that Danny shared he would have bid higher, had he known it wasn’t in fact Adrian on the other end of the line.

Still, he was delighted with his purchase of House 5, calling it an ideal Airbnb property thanks to its corner position and single-side neighbours. A fan of clean lines and beautiful flow, Danny clearly believed the home ticked all the boxes.

What does Danny Wallis do with his Block houses?

Danny Wallis has bought 12 Block homes at auction from 2012 until now.

Known for his generosity, Danny has previously donated several to charities such as My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.

This time, though, he revealed a more practical plan: he’ll be renting out the property, like he has many of his previous purchases.

Danny Wallis’ history on The Block

It was something of a surprise to see Danny back at the Daylesford auctions, though Scott Cam had hinted earlier that he’d been “sniffing around.”

Danny had previously criticised rising Victorian land taxes, making property buying less appealing, and he skipped this season’s public inspections.

As it turns out, there was a simple reason: “I came up on my own,” he explained. “I was overseas [when they took place.]”

Danny last purchased a Block home during the 2022 Gisborne season, famously securing Omar and Oz’s winning house for $5,666,666.66. That same year, he also snapped up Tom and Sarah-Jane’s and Rachel and Ryan’s homes.

In 2023 and 2024, however, he was outbid by Adrian Portelli – making this year’s triumphant return all the sweeter.
