What’s happening with Ivan Demidov at SKA Saint Petersburg makes no sense. For the past few games, he’s been dressed but barely playing.

Even worse, in a recent game, he didn’t play a single second and was glued to the bench for the entire game.

Why would you keep your top scorer on the bench for the whole game?

In my opinion, this just looks like a punishment because he wants to come to North America.

The guy is putting up incredible numbers, especially for someone his age! He’s a first-round pick of the Canadiens, a player who clearly has a future in the NHL.

I think SKA’s management is trying to make him pay the price for not accepting a contract there.

Rumor: Ivan Demidov reportedly rejected another contract offer from SKA

Marc-Olivier Beaudoin and other analysts are suggesting the same theory, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised at all.

In my opinion, the sooner he leaves SKA, the better it will be for him.

I’m convinced he’ll arrive in Montreal as early as next season, and I can’t wait to see him play for the Habs.

He has everything to become an impact player, and I think Canadiens fans should be excited about his arrival.

If you still had any doubts that Demidov is being pressured to stay in the KHL, well, today once again, he was “benched” by his head coach.

It’s really unfortunate for the young player, but at least it really seems like Demidov’s time with SKA is coming to an end.
