So, today there’s just a few updates regarding Emanuel Harrow, the seven-month-old child that was allegedly kidnapped in front of the Big Five store in California.
Word is, mom had the black eye from August 3rd. Somebody has video surveillance of this. And we have now heard that they called the Big Five to see if there were security cameras before the baby’s alleged kidnapping.
Now, look at daddy’s hands. Don’t they look kind of swollen or black and blue to you? I’m going to circle an area by his wrist. And wearing a sweatshirt in the dead of summer in California—that’s just odd to me. Don’t you think?
Now, they won’t talk to investigators, but investigators were back at their home last night looking for the baby. In my opinion, that baby’s been missing since August 3rd. Somebody needs to come forward and say something. This has gone on for far too long now.
And we have word that mama’s brother is in prison for allegedly doing somebody in to his girlfriend. So, this family has a long history of violence. And mama—if she knows—she needs to come forward and say something now. Because how could you just let something happen to your baby and not stand up for your baby?
I don’t understand that. What is going on with these people? It’s making me sick that they just let somebody do something to their baby—or they do something to their children. Come on.

Baby in Ukipa tonight. A candlelight vigil was held for seven-month-old Emanuel Haro, who has been missing since Thursday. His mother has said she was attacked and knocked unconscious, and when she came to, her baby was gone. But deputies are now revealing there were inconsistencies in her story.
Eyewitness News reporter Tim Caputo now joins us with this investigation as it continues to unfold.
Tim:
Sophie, you know, in investigations, deputies typically don’t release a lot of information when it’s active, but they have said a little bit this weekend. They say when the mother’s story didn’t match up with the first version she originally told them, investigators called her out on it. The mother of that missing seven-month-old then stopped talking to investigators.
But tonight, the community is coming together. They’re talking—and it’s not in support of those parents.
Seventy-two hours after little Emanuel Haro was reportedly kidnapped from a Ukipa parking lot, this evening police were spotted at the Cabazon home belonging to the seven-month-old’s parents. Why they were there tonight, or if there are any breaks in this case, remains unknown as investigators ask for the community’s patience in this still very active case.
“God almighty, we pray in this moment…”
Dozens showed up for a vigil, praying for the infant’s safe return.
“I got a baby at home I’m going to go home and hug when I get there. And I’m going to hug him extra tighter because it’s just—that baby’s innocent.”
Those who showed up to this candlelight vigil focused on the baby boy and not the growing rumors around town about what might have happened to him.
“We could be the voice that he doesn’t have. He’s not here to speak, and we can speak and be supportive for him.”
Emanuel’s mother pleaded:
“Just give him back to me again. Please don’t harm my son.”
We first spoke with Emanuel’s parents Friday morning, less than a day after reporting their seven-month-old missing. The boy’s mother, Rebecca Harrow, told us she was changing her son’s diaper in the Big Five parking lot Thursday night just before 8:00 p.m., when she was assaulted from behind and knocked out.
She’s got a black eye and told ABC7 she never saw the suspect. And when she came to, Emanuel was gone.
Rebecca Harrow:
“I got him out of the car seat, and I laid him down so I could get his diapers ready. And somebody said, ‘Hola.’ And that’s all I remember. I saw white… and then I fell on the floor. And when I got up, I couldn’t find my son. I checked all around my truck.”
But this weekend, the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department said the story Rebecca Harrow told detectives had inconsistencies. And when confronted about it, she ended the interview with investigators.
The Sheriff’s Department then said they’re unable to rule out foul play in the disappearance of Emanuel. They searched with canines, conducted multiple interviews, and say they remain committed to finding him.
Those at tonight’s vigil fear the worst, but are holding out hope investigators get to the bottom of this and find Emanuel alive.
“They’ll find out, and it’ll be soon, I’m sure. Everybody will have their answer. We’re hoping that it’s not what we all assume, but we have to wait.”
So, this alleged kidnapping happened in that business parking lot of the Big Five. We don’t know if there were security cameras facing the parking lot that captured what happened—or captured anything at all—but at this point, deputies have not released a description of a suspect or a potential suspect vehicle.
