After three weeks of what fans have described as the best gameplay they’ve ever seen, Survivor: Australia V The World has finally come to an end. Sunday night’s grand finale saw two Australian contestants, Luke Toki and Janine Allis, go up against two American players, Parvati Shallow and Cirie Fields.
Parvati won Individual Immunity in the gruelling final challenge, and a tie at Tribal Council meant that Cirie and Luke had to take part in a final four fire-making challenge. Luke won, sending Cirie to the jury while he advanced to the Final Tribal Council alongside Parvati and Janine.
Although this marked Parvati’s third time making it to the end of the game — having won Micronesia in 2008 and coming second on Heroes vs. Villains in 2010 — this was the first time Janine and Luke had achieved this feat. Janine finished sixth in her original season in 2019, while Luke came seventh and fourth in his previous two seasons, respectively.
This is the fifth time Cirie has played Survivor and not made it to the Final Tribal Council; however, she is set to compete on Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans next year.

Who won Survivor: Australia V The World?
After Parvati, Cirie, and Janine each delivered their speeches at Final Tribal Council, the members of the jury cast their votes for who they thought should win the game.
Ultimately, Parvati was announced as the winner after receiving six votes from the jury (Luke received one) and walked away with the $250,000 prize. The 42-year-old joins Sandra Diaz-Twine and Tony Vlachos as the only players to win Survivor twice.
“I’m so grateful to have been a part of this incredible experience of Australia V The World,” she said following her win. “There’s something about this game that just gets in my blood. I was born to play Survivor.
“I think this is the best game of Survivor I’ve played because I think I made some pretty great moves, I kept myself in a majority alliance. This feels like a full circle moment for me personally. It feels like I’m rewriting history in a way that feels so right.”

Parvati’s strategy to win Survivor: Australia V The World
Parvati previously told Yahoo Lifestyle that she was determined to win Survivor: Australia V The World as vindication for losing against Sandra on Heroes vs. Villains.
“I came in guns blazing,” she shared. “I was like, ‘I’m gonna win this game’, because this is righting the scales of the universe for the loss that I had on Heroes vs. Villains in Samoa. I was like, I am reclaiming my victory that should have been mine.
“So I came back with this sort of like, ‘Vengeance is mine, I’m reclaiming what’s rightfully mine’. It was sort of like this really intense vibe, but at the same time, also very light-hearted and very playful and very ready to do some silly damage.”
How Parvati prepared for Australian Survivor
Parvati, who last played Survivor on Winners At War in 2020, added that she was “in a very different place” when filming began for Survivor: Australia V The World.
“I am much more grounded in myself,” she explained. “I worked out really hard, because I know the things that give a contestant the edge on Australian Survivor are if you suffer well in endurance pain challenges, and how strong you are in these gritty, hardcore strength obstacle courses.
“I trust myself socially and strategically. I know I can play well with idols, I can play well with twists, and I can play well adapting to the different types of people and personalities. How can I win some of these challenges? So that’s what I was focused on.”
