It was an amazing night in Boston on Thursday as Canada faced off against the United States for the top honors in the Four Nations Faceoff.

In the end, the best player in the world, Connor McDavid, settled the debate in overtime with a magnificent goal.

Patrice Bergeron was present to congratulate his former Team Canada teammates

When thinking of Sidney Crosby with Team Canada, it’s hard to separate him from his longtime linemate, Patrice Bergeron.

With Brad Marchand completing the line, they were, for a long time, one of the best units on the global stage.

It was no surprise, then, to see the Quebec-born forward, despite being retired from hockey, near the locker room on Thursday night to congratulate his former Team Canada teammates, especially since the game was held in Boston, Bergeron’s adopted city since the Bruins selected him 45th overall in the 2003 draft.

Alongside his children, the former No. 37 took the time to congratulate his former linemates Sidney Crosby and Brad Marchand, as well as shake hands with Connor McDavid.

He even delivered the perfect line to Crosby:

“You just keep winning, huh”

– Patrice Bergeron

Bergeron isn’t wrong, Crosby only knows how to win in a Canadian uniform. His resume in international hockey is quite impressive! And he still has next year’s Olympic tournament to add to his record.

As for Bergeron, there’s no doubt he would have traded his retirement life for the chance to play in this tournament. As the fierce competitor he is, he would have given everything on the ice to help his teammates win the Faceoff.
