They might not have won last year’s season of My Kitchen Rules, but Hannah Campbell and Lawrence Murphy have thrilled fans on social media with an exciting announcement. The loved-up couple, who finished in sixth place, took to Instagram this week to reveal that they were expecting their first child together.
“A little darling is on the way,” they captioned a gallery of snaps from their maternity photoshoot. The images show the couple posing on the beach at sunset, with Lawrence kissing Hannah’s growing bump.
The pair also revealed that their new arrival is due on December 20, which is the anniversary of Lawrence’s mother’s passing.
Lawrence tells Yahoo Lifestyle that he’s thrilled about becoming a father for the first time, and the due date is “very special” to him.
“December has always been a really challenging time of year with my mum’s anniversary and her birthday being on Christmas Day. For the first time in my life, December will be the best time of year as it is for many,” he shares.
“I don’t believe in coincidences, and to me it feels like my mum giving us a Christmas gift.”

Colin Fassnidge’s cheeky comment
Lawrence and Hannah’s announcement has received plenty of congratulatory messages from their followers, including MKR judge Colin Fassnidge, who left a cheeky comment.
“Not sure if that’s just from eating dinner? But if a baby congratulations,” he wrote, while their co-star Liam Watt added, “Huge congrats legends! Welcome to the party! Surely @iamlawrencemurphy you get a free pass to come see the boys before the little one’s due?”.
“I’M SO HAPPY! Congratulations you two,” MAFS’ Bronte Schofield shared, followed by MAFS’ Beck Zemek who said, “These photos are more adorable than I even imagined. So much love for the 3 of you! I can’t wait!”.
Before his appearance on MKR, Lawrence had appeared in multiple ads, films, and TV series, including The Twelve, the war film Before Dawn alongside former Home and Away actor Stephen Peacocke, and the Channel 7 miniseries The Claremont Murders.
Hannah had also previously competed on Big Brother in 2020, which was the first season of the reality show to air on Channel 7, and finished in tenth place.
