Season 21 is expected to premiere in August.
The Block is returning for a mammoth 21st season in 2025, with a new cohort of teams eager to sink their teeth into the challenge of renovating an entire property in just three months.
With production of the series expected to wrap up at some point in June, and a premiere date for the new season likely to happen sometime in August, there’s still some time left before fans will be able to watch all the action unfold for themselves.
Luckily for you, we do have some insight to share about The Block 2025 that will (hopefully) help tide you over until episode one drops – including the filming location and property types this year’s blockheads will be renovating.

Where was The Block 2025 filmed?
At the annual Upfronts event on October 24, 2024, Channel Nine confirmed that season 21 of the show would be set in the country town of Daylesford in 2025.
Located just 90 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, Daylesford is one of Victoria’s premier wellness destinations and is a popular weekend escape.
The network confirmed at the time that the contestants would renovate “five luxury, family-sized homes in a prime greenfield setting.”
While Nine only officially confirmed The Block filming location for 2025 in October, long-running Executive Producer Julian Cress shared the news in an interview with TV Tonight in July.
“We’re going to do the show that we wanted to do [in 2023] and we’re really excited about [it] because we think off the back of this kind of ‘seachange’ series that we’re doing in Phillip Island, Daylesford is just a country town. It’s the number one weekend destination in Australia.”
“I think it’s a town that will resonate with a lot of viewers and as a backdrop for The Block, it’s absolutely stunning and the community there is wonderful,” he added.

What will The Block 2025 homes look like?
That news came two months after a development application lodged with Hepburn Shire Council and the Victorian Minister for Planning, Sonya Kilkenny, by Group Architects and Julian Brenchley was made public.
In the application, it was apparent that producers were keen to subdivide the existing block of land at 1 Raglan Street, Daylesford, into “five carbon-neutral, architecturally designed residential dwellings.”
According to the architectural plans, each renovated residence will feature matching floor plans with “5 bedrooms, study, living, covered garage, and quality outdoor areas, including heated swimming pool [and] extensive landscaping.”

Where has The Block been filmed?
The Block Australia has been filmed at a variety of inner city and regional locations in both New South Wales and Victoria over the years.
Victorian filming locations for The Block include Hampton East, the Macedon Ranges, Hampton, Brighton, St Kilda, Elsternwick, Port Melbourne, South Yarra, Prahran, Albert Park, South Melbourne, Richmond, and, more recently, Phillip Island in 2024.
Sydney filming locations for The Block include Bondi, Vaucluse, and Manly.
Originally, season 20 was also due to be filmed in Daylesford, but after backlash from locals, Channel Nine made the difficult decision to move production just three months before filming commenced.
