Domenica Calarco has declared she is “not a bad mum” after trolls scolded the reality TV star for taking her newborn girl on her first outing at six days old.

Domenica Calarco has responded after trolls scolded her for taking her newborn girl on her first outing at six days old and defended the move.

The TV star, 31, who appeared on Season 9 of the reality TV juggernaut Married at First Sight, welcomed her first child, Dove, last Thursday.

Domenica is raising Dove as a single mother, with the help of her ex-partner, professional skater Jarod Bogunovich, in a co-parenting capacity.

The mum took to her Instagram broadcast channel, a dedicated platform to connect with followers about her pregnancy and birth, on Wednesday, to share the reaction from a select few over her first outing with Dove.

Domenica safely went for a walk with her baby in the pram six days post birth and was shocked at how some people took issue with her decision.

She said they claimed Domenica “exposed” her baby, and the accusations caused her emotions to spiral.

“Today I received hundreds of comments from you guys praising me for getting out of the house and taking baby girl on her first real-life outing,” Domenica wrote.

“I got one or two comments who scolded me for doing so and they got to me big time. I cried for hours. I kept saying I’m not a bad mum.

“They made me feel like I was putting my daughter at risk by leaving the house six days after birth.”

Domenica was dumbfounded the trolls focused on her parenting choices as a new mum while not showing sympathy for her anxiety over the “huge step of getting out of the house while bleeding…and overly emotional”.

She said the outing was also done for her mental health postpartum.

“I needed to get out of the house for MY sanity…and why not?!” she said.

“How am I putting my daughter at risk when she was safe, in her pram, not ‘exposed’.

“I will never understand this.

“As I stood in the shower tonight, I exhaled and let the worry, self-hate, and anxiousness wash away because at the end of the day, my motherly instinct and doing what I know is right for ME is always the right choice.”

Domenica announced her pregnancy in March with a heartwarming video.

“Been a little MIA working on my greatest project yet…..Baby due September 2025,” she wrote in the caption of the sweet clip.

Days later, the star revealed she and Jarod had parted ways romantically.

The skater from Sydney’s Bondi subsequently took to Instagram Stories to confirm the couple were no longer together, but that he was committed to co-parenting with Domenica and raising their baby.

“As most of you already know, Dom and I are officially separated,” he wrote.

“Moving forward, my main priority is our child and stepping into the role of a father with as much love and support as I can offer.

“I’m committed to co-parenting and ensuring my child’s well-being is always at the forefront.

“For now, I’m keeping my focus on this next chapter.”
