Few names in hockey command the respect and admiration that Sidney Crosby does. As the longtime captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Crosby has become synonymous with greatness, leadership, and loyalty, captivating fans with his relentless drive and elite play for nearly two decades.

Despite the swirling rumors and constant speculation that often surround NHL superstars, Crosby has remained steadfast in his commitment to the Penguins, never publicly hinting at a desire to leave. However, recent insider reports have ignited a wave of intrigue across the hockey world, revealing that if Crosby were ever to consider a trade, he would have a very select list of preferred destinations. This revelation has sparked both hope and anxiety among fans and analysts, as they imagine the possibility—however remote—of seeing Crosby in a different jersey before he hangs up his skates for good.

Sidney Crosby has not indicated that he wants to leave the Penguins, but if he ever decides he wants to leave, we now know he would have a short list of spots to go to.

There is no question that Sidney Crosby will be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer and will have his legendary number 87 raised into the rafters in Pittsburgh. Crosby has been the face of the NHL for a large part of his career, and with new talents emerging left and right, Crosby still has found a way to be elite even at 37 years old.

While there is no indication that Sidney Crosby will be traded, insider Renaud Lavoie has revealed that if he does get traded, Crosby would have a short list of three teams that he would be willing to go to.

“Crosby will likely have a list of three teams.

We know he has interest in Montreal.

He has always said the Bell Centre is his favorite place to play outside of Pittsburgh.”

Montreal, being a potential destination, is no surprise. Crosby grew up in Nova Scotia and as a Canadiens fan. Here is a photo of a young Crosby sporting the famous red, blue, and white jersey.

Crosby would also likely have the Colorado Avalanche on his list of teams, as he has a friendship with Nathan MacKinnon and could chase another Stanley Cup with the Avs.

While it seems unlikely that we will see a Crosby trade soon, you can never say never. Thankfully for Penguins fans, it looks like they will at least have another year with Crosby and hopefully keep him till he retires.
