Steph Curry may still be dominating the NBA on a full-time basis, but the Warriors superstar is also reportedly taking a job in the college ranks.
Per Shams Charania of ESPN, the two-time MVP has accepted a first-of-its-kind role as an administrator at his alma mater, Davidson, serving as the assistant GM for the school’s men’s and women’s basketball programs.
That makes Curry the first pro athlete to hold such a position at the NCAA level while still being an active player.
“In his new role, Curry, who played three seasons at Davidson (2006-09), will provide guidance and advice to the male and female athletes through his experiences in college and professionally,” Charania reported.
Noting, “He’ll work with general manager Austin Buntz, a former Under Armour global sports marketing team member.”
Curry played three seasons with the Wildcats, where he remains the program’s all-time leading scorer, was a two-time All-American, two-time SoCon Player of the Year, three-time first-team all-conference selection and led the nation in scoring in 2009.
It was his unbelievable performance leading Davidson to the Elite Eight though that cemented his legend and made him one of the most memorable mid-major players of the last 20 years.
Steph averaged 32 points per game on that run — which included an unforgettable 40-point display in the opening round to take down Gonzaga where he hit on 8-of-10 three-point attempts.

In a statement released by the school, Curry talked about his experience as a Wildcat and what he’d like to see for the next generation of Davidson athletes.
“The Davidson experience is top notch,” he said. “My journey from when I got to Davidson in 2006 to now demonstrated that I had the opportunity to play basketball at the highest level, got a great education, an amazing network through the Davidson alumni and continue to wave the Davidson flag.
I want very talented, high character student athletes to have that same experience.”
Steph returned to the school in 2022 to finish his undergraduate degree and is also a member of the Wildcats Hall of Fame.
