The name of Mason McTavish has been talked about a lot in Montreal since the beginning of the summer.

He represents everything the Canadiens need right now, and his relationship with the Anaheim Ducks does not seem to be going well, so it’s just a logical association.

On top of that, the young centerman still doesn’t have a contract with the season starting in less than a month!

In short, many fans and observers are dreaming about Mason McTavish.

His name has been excessively linked to the Canadiens (for the reasons we just mentioned), but we didn’t even know if Kent Hughes was really officially invested in this case.

We now have that confirmation.

Marco D’Amico confirms that Kent Hughes is monitoring the Mason McTavish case

Wow!

So rest assured that if McTavish does become openly available, the Montreal Canadiens will be in the mix to acquire him.

“I can confirm the Habs are monitoring the situation.

But I can also tell you they likely wouldn’t be the team to put in the heaviest offer if he was made available”

– Marco D’Amico

It’s therefore confirmed.

The Canadiens are monitoring the McTavish situation.

Let’s obviously remember that Mason McTavish is a very complete young centerman, 22 years old, who was the third overall pick in 2021 (1st round) and who collected 52 points in 76 games last season.

He would be a dream second center in Montreal behind captain Nick Suzuki, and he still doesn’t have a contract for the 2025-2026 season.

He is currently a restricted free agent.
