Kevin Durant has been with the Phoenix Suns for the last two and a half seasons but hasn’t helped them win a title. 

They lost in the Western Conference Semifinals during the 2022-23 season before losing in the first round of the playoffs last year. They’re currently 27-31 during the 2024-25 season and may not make the playoffs this year.

It would stink not seeing Durant in the playoffs this year since he’s having a tremendous season, averaging 26.9 points, six rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.

He was discussed in trade rumors before the NBA trade deadline, but the Suns opted to keep him. He has a year left on his current contract, but Carmelo Anthony wants him to finish his career with the Washington Wizards since he’s from the DMV area.

“Go to the Wizards, bring the energy back to DC. You home,” Anthony said. “So now, go back home, your family, your mom, friends (are) there. Go rekindle that fire back out there in DC, and they got pieces now.”

It feels like Durant playing for the Wizards at some point during his career has been a talking point ever since he got into the NBA. Wizards fans have wanted it to happen over the years, and now Anthony is on that bandwagon.

He’d potentially show them how to win since the Wixards have missed the playoffs in five of the last six seasons and only won 15 games last year.

They’re going to miss the playoffs for the sixth time in the last seven seasons since they’ve only won 10 games this season and are last in the Eastern Conference.

Durant has won two NBA titles (2017, 2018) during his career and just won his fourth Olympic Gold Medal last summer in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
