It is Friday, the 1st of August. It’ll soon be autumn—or fall, for those in the US. And it’s to the US we’re going this morning. We’re going to Tennessee.

When I heard of this case a couple of days ago, I thought, “Only in Tennessee could something like this happen.” Of course, that was a bit hyperbolic of me, because crazy cases happen everywhere from time to time—but thankfully, not often. And this is a crazy case. We’ve got an abandoned baby, we’ve got a quadruple murder, and we’ve got a man on the run.

A lot of people who follow my channel are from Tennessee, or have relatives in Tennessee, or have connections with Tennessee because of various cases that I’ve covered: Summer Wells, Sebastian Rogers, Leila Santaneloo, Holland Snap, Caitlyn Leadbetter, and others—you know, lots of missing people that I’ve covered on this channel and over on my other channel, Michelle Walks.

If you like this channel, go and check out Michelle Walks. It’s my second channel. I don’t do videos every day over there, but if you like this channel, you will like that content. So, hop on over there and subscribe if you’ve got a mind to.

Oh! Megan Boswell—that’s another crazy case from Tennessee that I’d forgotten about.

Anyway, this case. Let’s talk about it, because it’s absolutely wild. Wild, I tell you. Let’s go.

Before we get into this case, can I please ask: please subscribe if you’re not already subscribed. It’s completely free. It’s not like memberships where you’ve got to join—it’s completely free. All you’ve got to do is click the subscribe button. I’m trying to get to 100,000 subscribers by the end of this year, and I think I can do it. I’d be heading on up to 200,000 subscribers if everybody subscribed who wasn’t.

Anyway, all that said, let’s get into this.

So, I’m going to play you this small news piece from NBC because this explains the basics. And if you’ve not heard of this case before—man, you’re in for a wild ride, I tell you.

Still ongoing, led by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, but the FBI and other local law enforcement agencies are helping and getting answers for the family.

Two small northwest Tennessee communities—usually quiet, where everybody knows each other—are shaken after a baby was abandoned in rural northwest Tennessee and rescued.

“Just dumped. You know, that’s what—you know, he just dumped.”

Four people related to the baby were found dead hours later in Tiptonville.

“I didn’t know what to think. I mean, honestly. I had heard that they found the car—the vehicle.”

“I did not hear that there were bodies in there until today on the news.”

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the four victims are: James Wilson (the child’s father), Adriana Williams (the baby’s mother), Courtney Rose (the child’s grandmother), and the baby’s 15-year-old uncle, Braden Williams.

As for who is responsible, the TBI is still searching for the suspects in this homicide investigation.

“There’s always concern when there is a suspect or suspects out there that we have not caught yet. So anyone who knows of anything—please report it.”

The attorney general for Dyer and Lake Counties says the community should know this was an isolated incident.

“It’s not that these people were randomly chosen. So, I don’t think there needs to be any kind of concern or fear in the community.”

Although the community is shaken, they are looking to law enforcement to keep them safe.

“We had talked to the police last night, and they said, ‘Don’t worry about anything because everybody’s got it covered.’”

Tuesday night, family members of the people who were found were pleading on social media, asking for the public’s help to find their missing loved ones. Now, they’re asking for the public’s help in getting answers to their deaths.

Reporting in Dyer County, Immani Williams, Action News 5.

All right, so there’s a lot to unpack there.

First of all, let’s go to the location. This is Dyer County, northwest Tennessee. Zooming out—there’s Memphis, and Dyer County is all the way up here. This is where the baby was found. A 7-month-old baby was found in someone’s yard—just left, just dumped in a car seat.

But at least that baby is alive, and as far as I know, she’s doing well.

About 25 miles to the north, though, an abandoned vehicle was found, and four people were inside. This is in Lake County.

Now, the report you just heard was from a couple of days ago, but yesterday they announced that they have a suspect. The TBI identified a suspect on Thursday, wanted on four counts of first-degree murder and also firearm charges in connection with the deaths. The named person is 29-year-old Austin Robert Drummond. He should be considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be driving a 2016 Audi A3.

No motive has been released.

A little glint of compassion—to not kill the baby as well. Thank heavens for small mercies.

This is where the baby was found—on a property here. So:

Matthew Wilson, 21,

Adriana Williams, 20,

Courtney Rose, 38 (Adriana’s mother), and

Braden Williams (Adriana’s brother, 15)—

were all found in a wooded area in Tiptonville.

Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box said:

“This is a deeply saddening day for our community. We are committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice is served.”

Nearly a dozen law enforcement agencies are assisting with the investigation, including the FBI and the US Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force.

The baby was discovered Tuesday afternoon by a witness who dialed 911 and said there was a baby in a car seat in someone’s front yard in the Tigrett area, nearly 18 miles north of Memphis.

A post said the child was being evaluated by medical personnel and included a photo of the infant in the arms of a loving paramedic.

Initially, the sheriff’s office said it was seeking to talk with three people—later identified as the victims: the mother, the father, and the maternal grandmother. Their family had been posting on social media, saying they’d never leave the baby. And then—lo and behold—that evening, a car was found with those people inside, plus Braden, the baby’s uncle.

Let’s bring this story up to date.

Urgent manhunt underway in Tennessee for a suspected killer.

Officials say four people were found dead in a car Tuesday, including the parents of a baby who was located by authorities just hours before. The child had been abandoned in a random front yard in a neighboring county.

Authorities identified the suspect today: Austin Robert Drummond, 28 years old. He is considered armed and dangerous.

He now faces four counts of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated kidnapping, and several firearms possession–related crimes.

Authorities released this image of the suspect and an image of a white 2016 Audi A3, believed to be the getaway vehicle.

These are the victims:

James Wilson (21, the baby’s father)

Adriana Williams (20, the mother)

Courtney Rose (38, the grandmother)

Braden Williams (15, the uncle)

So, we’ve got two devastated families here, haven’t we?

Courtney, Adriana, and Braden’s family—but we’ve also got James Wilson’s family. Then we’ve got this guy, Austin Drummond. At least he had one compassionate bone in his body—but he’s armed, he’s dangerous. Don’t approach him if you see him. Contact the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.

Some relatives have spoken out. A relative described her family as heartbroken and confused. She appears to know the suspect, who, in her words, “has been nothing short of amazing to us and our kids.”

This woman—who identified herself as the sister-in-law and aunt of three victims—said Drummond was previously in a relationship with Courtney Rose’s sister. Yes, he was close to their family. “We all trusted him,” she said. “Yes, we cared about him. We thought he cared about us. We never expected him to cause harm to anyone—much less in our family. We are heartbroken. We are confused. We are devastated. We are mortified. We are hurting. Our kids are hurting. We want justice.”

Public records show Drummond was convicted of armed robbery in 2014 in Madison County. His sentence ended last September. Just two months later, he was charged with attempted murder and drug crimes—allegedly committed while incarcerated. He was out on bond.

So they let him out on bond—even though he was a suspect in attempted murder while inside prison.
