She stopped messaging him after watching certain scenes on TV

Beth and Teejay’s relationship on MAFS Australia didn’t exactly end well. The couple went their separate ways just before final vows. Beth has outlined exactly what went down with Teejay after their shock exit, and where they stand now. Because we all need some closure on this one.

Beth told The Tab that their relationship fell apart after homestays, when she felt Teejay just wasn’t into her any more and she didn’t get why he was still there. “‘The only real conclusion I can come to is he was there for his own gain. To gain a bit more fame, followers, whatever he wanted from it.”

She did stay in touch with Teejay after they left the show. But after watching back certain scenes on TV, Beth changed her attitude. “He messaged me a lot throughout the airing of the show,” she explained, “but when it got to homestays, I just couldn’t reply to him anymore.  I think watching it back was so difficult. And he’d never really apologised for how he treated me or taken any accountability. And for me, I can’t move forward with someone and have a  friendship if they won’t acknowledge how they treated me.”

Beth suggested they meet up again in person to talk about their relationship. “I ended up just messaging him. And I was like, ‘Look, I feel like I need to talk to you, because I need to get some things off my chest.’  So, I actually invited him to my apartment, and we had a conversation. When you’re angry at someone, it’s a very heavy emotion. And so, I thought for me to close this chapter, I really need to say how he truly made me feel and just kind of put it to bed. So, that was a really good conversation. I think it was really healthy for both of us.”

Beth and Teejay still see each other at MAFS events, and their relationship is “amicable”.

“We’ve met up at a few events lately in Brisbane,” Beth said, “So we’ve seen each other. And we have texted a couple of times. I don’t hate him. Obviously, I didn’t agree with how he treated me.  But where we stand right now, we are good. Our relationship is amicable.”

Teejay’s account of his and Beth’s relationship after the show is somewhat different. He didn’t mention that at one point Beth stopped replying to him. Teejay told 9Entertainment that he got in touch with Beth first, and this eventually led to them meeting up in person. He said: “I tried to reach out and make sure she was doing OK. I know that she was pretty upset during the show. She wanted to chat about a few things so we had a chat and that was that. We had a long conversation. It was good.”
