Last night, during the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Nashville Predators, we witnessed a regrettable scene.

Preds’ star player, Filip Forsberg, clearly tried to injure young defenseman Lane Hutson.

The referees saw absolutely nothing at the time, but I can’t believe the NHL’s disciplinary committee won’t do anything about it.

It’s outright an attempt to injure, plain and simple.

“This is a downright dirty and disgusting move by Filip Forsberg, who tries to elbow Lane Hutson in the head.

The NHL’s incompetent referees are completely blind, as usual.”

No penalty was given on the play.

I repeat.

No penalty was given on the play.

A Suspension for Filip Forsberg?

That’s what we’ll be closely monitoring today, as the league is normally strict when it comes to attempts to injure.

It’s the easy argument, but I can’t help thinking about what would be said today, all across the NHL, if it had been a player like Arber Xhekaj who had made such a move.

The good news is that Lane Hutson appears to have come out of it unharmed.. A lucky break!

At 30 years old, Filip Forsberg has 70 points in 77 games this season, with 44 penalty minutes.

More details will follow in the coming hours, when “NHL Player Safety” announces its hearings for the day.
