The Block‘s Sonny and Alicia from House 4 have made a risky decision for their ensuite bathroom this week by changing up the floor plans of their property to ensure they have a point of difference from the other houses. The change mainly involves moving the placement of the door, so you enter the ensuite from the walk-in wardrobe, and viewers are divided on whether or not it’s a good idea.

The Block shared the change on Instagram, asking fans, “Is this a game changing move by House 4?”. They added, “With all the floor plans the same, Sonny and Leesh are differentiating their home to the rest. Will it pay off?”.

Many people hate the idea of having the moisture from the bathroom ending up in the wardrobe, while others think it is an excellent idea to have something that differentiates the home from the other teams.

“Much better than the original floor plan,” one viewer wrote.

“Way better,” another said. “The original floor plans are terrible!”

“I think the bathroom is better, but they have compromised the WIR to do that,” a third said.

“Love this way better,” someone else added.

“Hopefully the ventilation is good in the ensuite, otherwise all that moisture will get trapped in the WIR and be a bit of an issue. Otherwise, it flows nicely,” yet another wrote.

Many others hated the idea, with one person writing, “Just feel like it’s an old style of walk-in robe to ensuite. It was great, 15 years ago.”

“No I hate walking through a wardrobe to go to the bathroom – I would have turned it all 90 degrees and put the bathroom on the outer wall for a window and wardrobe next to it so they have separate entrances to either of them,” another said. “Measures the same but makes more sense.”

“I didn’t think Shaynna [Blaze] liked bathroom access through WIRs from previous seasons?” a third questioned. “Not sure they’ll get kudos for the change.”

“Noooo – steam and moisture from the bathroom straight into WIR is a nightmare!” someone else added.
