Farmer Wants A Wife’s newest leading man, Farmer Jack, made quite an impression on viewers in Monday night’s episode when he decided to change the rules. The 26-year-old Tasmanian dairy farmer, who joins this season partway through due to Jarrad and Tom’s early exits, stunned host Natalie Gruzlewski when he announced he only wanted to invite four ladies back to his farm.

“I don’t take this decision lightly, and I don’t want to lead anyone on,” he said. “For that reason, Nat, I’d actually only like to pick four girls to come home with me today.”

Nat was clearly taken aback by the request and had to consult with the show’s producers for approval before ultimately allowing Jack to choose just four women. Farmers are typically instructed to bring five contestants back to the farm, so Jack’s rules change marks a first for the reality show.

He invited 25-year-old bricklayer Monique, 23-year-old hospitality manager Hayley, 27-year-old veterinarian Olivia, and 29-year-old personal assistant Sarah back to his farm, with Sarah receiving the first 24-hour date.

Fans weigh in on shock twist

Viewers took to social media throughout the episode to praise the never-before-seen twist, with one person describing it as a “very sensible” decision.

“Looks like he knows what he wants and his journey will be quick. I applaud him for not taking girls back he didn’t feel a spark with, good on Farmer Jack,” a fan wrote, with another adding, “Well he has come into the show late. No time to muck about, he had even less time to find his wife now”.

“I really enjoyed tonight’s show. Farmer Jack seems nice and he has some lovely ladies to take back to the farm,” someone else shared, followed by a different user who said, “I like Farmer Jack and he seems the most romantic and genuine type of guy”.

‘The best of the farmers this year’

Despite only appearing in one episode so far, some fans even declared that Jack was their favourite farmer this season.

“This guy is far and away the best of the farmers this year,” one person remarked, while another commented, “Pity he wasn’t on the show first up”.

“He’s young looking, but at 26, he has more common sense, maturity and lovely nature than any of them on the show. At least he’s not here to muck around – straight to the point,” a third replied.

“What a breath of fresh air,” someone else said. “Assertive, mature, grounded, level-headed, holds a conversation well, confident in a good way. Just a gorgeous guy all round, A great catch for the perfect girl. He will make a wonderful husband, father and friend.”

Fans predict who Farmer Jack will end up with

Meanwhile, many viewers have already predicted that Farmer Jack will end up choosing Sarah as his winner. The pair bonded over karaoke during their speed date and shared their first kiss after eating sushi on the farm together.

“Sarah and Jack have a good connection,” a fan wrote, with another adding, “I think he’ll choose her at the end. I love that he isn’t mucking around”.

“I like those two together, I think they’re a good match,” someone else agreed, while a fourth said, “I’ve got a gut feeling she’s the one for him”.

“The way he looked at her, you could tell his eyes were saying yes she’s the one,” a different user pointed out.
