We have some updates regarding Montreal Canadiens goalie Jakub Dobes. Yesterday afternoon, the organization announced that Samuel Montembeault will be in net late tonight against the San Jose Sharks.

Several fans were disappointed to see Dobes sitting at the end of the bench for two consecutive games for the first time in a while, but let’s just say he won’t have to wait too long.

As mentioned by David Calabretta, in announcing that Monty will be in net for his team tonight, the Canadiens have also confirmed a start for Jakub Dobes tomorrow, in Los Angeles.

Unless there’s a huge surprise, this is what should indeed be confirmed by the Canadiens shortly.

Jakub Dobes is expected to be in net tomorrow against the Kings

He would thus complete a stretch of three games in four nights for the Habs in California, and he would have the biggest challenge.

It’s interesting to note that Martin St-Louis is giving the «easier» matchup to Montembeault, against the Sharks, while Dobes will face the Los Angeles Kings in the second game of back-to-back nights.

It will be a good challenge.

At 23 years old, 6 feet 4 inches, and 215 pounds, Dobes has a record of 5-1-1 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.10 and a save percentage of 0.927.

At 28 years old, 6 feet 3 inches, and 218 pounds, Montembeault has a record of 17-19-3 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.99 and a save percentage of 0.898.

To be continued.
