The potential addition of Ivan Demidov to the Montreal Canadiens’ roster has suddenly transformed from a speculative discussion to a tangible possibility, sending waves of excitement through the hockey community. Demidov, a highly touted prospect with exceptional offensive skills and remarkable hockey intelligence, could provide the strategic reinforcement the Canadiens have been seeking to elevate their competitive profile.

Recent developments suggest that the organization is seriously exploring the opportunity to integrate the young Russian talent into their lineup, recognizing his potential to be a game-changing asset. His impressive performance in international and junior circuits has already positioned him as a player with significant upside, capable of bringing dynamic playmaking abilities and scoring prowess to the team. The Canadiens’ management appears to be carefully evaluating the strategic implications of bringing Demidov into their system, weighing his developmental trajectory against the immediate needs of the team.

This potential acquisition represents more than just a player addition; it symbolizes the organization’s commitment to building a robust, forward-looking roster with high-potential young talent. Hockey analysts and fans are closely monitoring the situation, speculating about how Demidov’s unique skill set could potentially transform the Canadiens’ offensive strategy and inject new energy into the team’s performance. The possibility of his arrival has generated considerable anticipation and optimism among the fan base.

Ivan Demidov stats hockey

We just read a very interesting post about Ivan Demidov and the Montreal Canadiens. It was actually shared by expert PM Perron.

Basically, it allows us to learn that, indeed, the possibility of seeing Ivan Demidov join the Canadiens’ lineup as reinforcements this season is very real.

It is still considered slim, but it is very real.

Imagine how huge it would be for Martin St-Louis’ squad if Ivan Demidov could come help at the end of the season.

If the team is still just one or two points away from a playoff spot, this could truly make a difference.

Ivan Demidov as reinforcements for the Montreal Canadiens this season: we can believe in it

First, check out the post in question.

“Could Ivan Demidov join the Montreal Canadiens before the end of the season?

His contract with SKA in the KHL is valid until May 31, 2025, and Roman Rotenberg seems determined to keep him.

However, a mutual termination (like Gavrikov/Gusev) is not impossible if Montreal insists.

Slim chances, but not zero, what do you think?”

Basically, knowing that Demidov will not be signing a new contract with SKA under any circumstances, if the Montreal Canadiens are persuasive enough, they could technically reach an agreement with Roman Rotenberg to bring him to Montreal immediately after the end of his KHL season (which is really coming to an end).

Why keep him there once the season is over, knowing he won’t be returning next year?

SKA could do the Montreal Canadiens a big favor here, and it could benefit them later on.

Anyway, I’m not getting too excited about this, but I still want to believe in it.

Let’s remember that in 2019, Vladislav Gavrikov was able to join the Columbus Blue Jackets at the end of the season (he played two games, including the playoffs).

The Blue Jackets had reached an agreement with.. yes, SKA St. Petersburg.

The rules are clear, it’s possible:

It’s a possibility to keep in mind, but it might also be wishful thinking to believe that SKA would accept an offer from the Canadiens in this regard.
