Whether it’s a catchy slogan, viral hashtag, or bold promise on live TV, there have been some impressive Gold Logie campaigns over the years. 2023 winner Sonia Kruger campaigned with the tagline ‘Onya Sonya’, while 2024 winner Larry Emdur famously pledged that he would get the initials of his fellow nominees tattooed on his backside if he won.
The nominations for the 2025 Logie Awards were revealed on Monday, with Ally Langdon, Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Lisa Millar, Lynne McGranger, Poh Ling Yeow and Sonia Kruger all up for the coveted Gold Logie. With the ceremony just over six weeks away on Sunday, August 3, Yahoo Lifestyle asked some of this year’s nominees what their campaign strategy is.
Julia Morris, who has now been nominated for the Gold Logie four times, jokes that she has “a lot of strategies in place” to finally take it out this year.
“My campaign strategy is to drive mum’s Uber, I drive children to various locations,” she remarks. “Unpacking the dishwasher is definitely part of my strategy. And what else have I got to do? Oh, keep the pool filled up with the water, because if it goes beneath, then the filter won’t work.”

‘I’ll have a battalion’
MasterChef’s Poh Ling Yeow admits she hasn’t put much thought into the campaign strategy herself, but has plenty of people in her life who will be keen to help her.
“I’ve got a lot of mates who will be really into this. We’ve had to keep, you know, mum’s the word until now, so I think when everyone finds out, I think I’ll have a battalion,” she laughs.
ABC host Lisa Millar adds that she also plans on recruiting some friends to help spread the word and encourage people to vote.
“I don’t have [a campaign manager] yet, I haven’t thought about the strategy. Although I do think, given that I do a show called Muster Dogs and it’s all about kelpies and collies, they are going to have to round up some votes for me,” she laughs.
“Tomorrow morning I am straight on the plane for another Back Roads shoot for 10 days in North Queensland, so I’m gonna have to get this campaign organised because I’m gonna be MIA for my own campaign, and I don’t know that that’s a good look!”
Ally Langdon’s campaign strategy
After winning the Silver Logie for Best News or Public Affairs Presenter in 2024, A Current Affair host Ally Langdon admits she’s not quite sure how to campaign for her first-ever Gold Logie nomination.
“My approach last year with the Silver was I just ignored it, and like if you looked on my socials, you wouldn’t have even known. But I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get away with that this time round,” she shares.
“So I’m sure we’ll do something, but that part’s the uncomfortable space. I feel like I’m here, I’m the face of A Current Affair, but I very much feel like that’s who I’m representing for this. It’s not sort of ‘Ally for the Gold’, it’s ‘ACA for the Gold’, and I just happen to sit in the chair.”
