Questions about young Ivan Demidov are far from over for Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis.

However, he already showed signs of impatience during a press conference earlier today when he was asked about Demidov.

Maybe it wasn’t necessary to be that curt, but I understand Martin St-Louis.

His full focus right now is on the playoffs, on tonight’s game, and on the players he has to work with today.

He can’t afford to be “distracted” by Demidov’s arrival, no matter how talented the player is.

A question about Ivan Demidov that irritates Martin St-Louis

We can also imagine that he doesn’t want it to become a distraction for his team and players, and that he doesn’t want the Canadiens to become the Demidov one-man show.

In short, earlier today live from Ottawa, St-Louis clearly sent a message to the media.

When asked about the young Demidov, he very clearly said:

“I haven’t thought about that yet.
I’m trying to clinch a playoff spot.”

And he gave the same answer twice.

Martin St-Louis didn’t want to talk about young Ivan Demidov today

The first time, he said it fairly calmly, but the second time, he said it very sharply.

He was starting to lose patience.

The journalists got the message.. Martin didn’t want to talk about Ivan Demidov today!

Let’s not forget the Canadiens face the Senators tonight, live from Ottawa, and the team could officially clinch a playoff spot with a win.
