Let’s see’ – Gervonta Davis slams Terence Crawford in deleted posts as pair argue over fight earnings on social media
Gervonta Davis and Terence Crawford went at each other in a public spat on social media.
Davis and Crawford are two of the US’s biggest boxing superstars, but have never met in the ring given their current difference in size.
The pair are on separate trajectories with ‘Tank’ currently preparing for his showdown with Lamont Roach on March 1.
Meanwhile, ‘Bud’ is coming to the closing stages of his career aged 37, but is pursuing a huge mega-fight with fellow pound-for-pound great Canelo Alvarez.
Crawford attended the recent Ring Magazine awards held in London, where he opened discussions with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh over the clash with Alvarez.
Davis is not involved in the Middle East revolution, and was unimpressed by not being invited to the boxing ceremony.
His American rival spotted his frustration on social media, and replied on X: “I seen somebody mad that they weren’t invited to the Ring Magazine Gala.
Davis quickly replied: “But I still earn way more than you.”
He then continued: “You all think he’s chasing greatness. He’s not, that’s what he has to do to make decent money. F*** boys.
The 30-year-old’s posts were later taken down from social media, but Crawford’s new responses remained.
He countered: “First thing a dumb rich person say to another rich person is I got more money than you!
“I bet you I own more investments than you and I don’t owe a dollar in taxes.

“You can’t buy nothing I can’t buy that I want sir and that is a fact. Let’s see who money last the longest, smart guy.”
He then concluded: “By the way little guy, don’t speak too soon because you definitely not making more than me for fights.
“Who you been fighting? That’s why you talking about fighting Ryan again.”
Davis’ is expected to have earned a groundbreaking purse in excess of £30million for his career-best win over Ryan Garcia in 2023.
Their blockbuster clash saw his name emerge as one of the biggest pay-per-view draws in the sport.
It was reported he earned a $15m payday for his latest victory over Frank Martin, a drop given the calibre of his opponent.

Crawford is equally in a good space having pocketed a reported $25m for his undisputed title victory over Errol Spence in 2023.
He has since fought Israil Madrimov headlining a stadium bill, but was reported to have earned considerably less at around $2.5m in the leap to become a four-weight world champion last year.
But nonetheless it is a largely redundant debate given the pair both earn huge purses, and will already leave a positive legacy in the sport.
Any fight between Davis and Crawford seems highly unlikely given Crawford could climb to 168lbs to meet Davis.
Davis has fought as high as 140lbs, but it is now practically off the cards that Crawford would now boil down to that limit at the age of 37.
