REMAINS FOUND IN NOVA SCOTIA IDENTIFIED
As mentioned before, the disappearance of siblings Jack and Lily cast Nova Scotia in the spotlight because many of us have been following this case from the beginning. And police say they do not believe the children to be alive if they ventured into the woods and got lost. It’s been a month now. It’s a long time for children that young to be out there somewhere. Police also say there is no evidence of an abduction.

On the 27th May, I put out a video after numerous emails and comments about human remains being found in Cape Breton County in Nova Scotia. I think many just heard “Nova Scotia” and their hearts dropped, thinking the remains found were related to little Jack and Lily.

Well, I have an update now on the identity of the remains. The human remains found on Warley Road in Cape Breton have been officially confirmed to be Justin Macdonald.

In a release sent Thursday around 4 p.m., Cape Breton Regional Police said the autopsy results have confirmed the remains found to be those of the 38-year-old North Sydney man who was last seen on July 7th, 2024. Autopsy results have confirmed the manner of death is a homicide.

Cape Breton Regional Police Forensics Unit and other officers were at the scene where Justin Macdonald’s remains were found the night before. Justin’s father, Ken Macdonald, said he found the remains and that police were working around the clock collecting evidence from the scene at Mley Road, which was closed for 2 days.

I can’t believe how heartbreaking it must have been when he found the remains of his son. However, after many months, the family can have closure and get justice for Justin.

Searching for 322 days, Ken was slowly driving down Mley Road with friend Steve Nent when one of Justin’s sandals was spotted in a ditch off the road. These are parents that never gave up. They searched and searched until they found their son.

Ken said he knew right away that it was Justin when he found the remains. First, he called his wife, Peggy Macdonald, who was searching for their son in a quarry, to let her know he had found Justin.
