Although there are still a few weeks before this year’s season of The Block ends, one team is already planning a potential return to the series in 2026. It was revealed last month that the reality show’s twenty-second season would be filmed in Mount Eliza after producers purchased an $11 million development site on the Mornington Peninsula.

While little is known about the show’s theme or contestants, 2025 fan favourites Emma and Ben have put their hand up to make an appearance. Yahoo Lifestyle has obtained footage of the couple, who are currently expecting their first child together, at an exclusive in-store Bunnings event on Sunday, admitting that they would love to come back next year because the filming location is so close to their home.

“So next year is actually going to be in Mount Eliza, which is like, five minutes from where we live,” Emma remarked. “So yeah, we’re going to be hanging around like a bad smell. They’ll be like, ‘Em and Ben, you guys are so last year!’.

“But we would [return]. I think it would be a lot easier if you were going back for a round two. You’d know how the makeup of how The Block worked, you’d know how to finish a room in a week; it’d be a breeze.”

Emma and Ben’s plans after The Block

When asked about their plans after The Block, Ben said that they’re “going to have [their] hands full” being first-time parents.

“We’ve got that to look forward to, and I don’t know, we’d love to do another reno and keep the momentum going. We just love doing it,” he said.

“So yeah, there’s always that on the cards, but at the moment, we’re just going to see where it all falls for us; just go with the flow.”

The Block teams take over Bunnings

The Block teams have been making several appearances at Bunnings stores across the country throughout this year’s season, with fans able to connect with their favourite contestants in a fun, interactive setting.

The events include live Q&A sessions, photo ops, signature card signings, and practical design insights straight from the talent, as well as hands-on kids DIY, face painting, lucky door prizes, giveaways, and gift bags.

Bunnings Campbelltown Complex Manager, Ben MacDonald, who helped organise the first event with Emma and Ben earlier this month, told Yahoo Lifestyle that there was a “massive turnout” which “far exceeded expectations”.

“It was such a great day having Emma and Ben from The Block visit our store. The turnout was fantastic. So many customers came out to meet them, take photos, and share a moment,” he said.

“One of our younger customers even brought in a little teddy bear as a gift for Emma, which was really special. We gave them a few gifts from us too — some Bunnings merch, a Bunnings Bear, and even a mini forklift to say thanks.”
