My Kitchen Rules fan favourites Lol and Lil have spoken out about their co-star Michael’s controversial ‘edit’ and revealed what he was really like during filming. Michael, who is competing alongside his partner Rielli, has emerged as one of the most divisive contestants this season thanks to his bold opinions and snide remarks.
Tuesday night’s episode was no different, with the ‘Meat Master’ attending Lol and Lil’s instant restaurant in Logan, Queensland and describing it as “the slums”. Lol and Lil tell Yahoo Lifestyle that despite their clashes with Michael and Rielli, who described them as the ‘Logan Bogans’ in episode one, they have a “love-hate relationship” with the couple.
“We definitely hope we’d be invited to their wedding,” Lol says, revealing that they’ve stayed in touch with everyone in the cast since filming wrapped. “We love all of the contestants this year, no matter what is said. We’ve all gone through such an amazing experience together, and I think that’s something that only we can bond over.”
The girls add that they were disappointed seeing Michael and Rielli continue to make disparaging comments about their hometown, including that they were worried they would be “slaughtered” or robbed walking down the street, but quickly got over it.
“Michael is very opinionated, as we all know. I think that might have been a little bit dramatic on their behalf. I don’t think we need to be clutching our purses closely,” Lol shares. “But obviously, we don’t let that rattle us. We just try to keep moving on. We know where we live, and we’re proud of that.”

Lol and Lil spill on Mel and Jacinta
Feisty cousins Mel and Jacinta are another controversial couple who haven’t been afraid to stir the pot this season, and walked out of Lol and Lil’s instant restaurant in tears after clashing with Maria and Bailey.
Lol and Lil admit they were completely unaware that Mel and Jacinta left the dinner table until they watched Tuesday night’s episode, and tried their best to steer clear of any confrontations throughout the season.
“Our interactions have been fine with Mel and Jacinta,” Lol says. “We just try and stay out of drama where we can really and try to bring the bubbliness and lightness to the table.”
Lol and Lil are facing potential elimination after landing at the bottom of the leaderboard, with only Mel and Jacinta left to cook in this round. The girls share that they are “absolutely terrified” of being the first team sent home, but tease that they won’t go down without a fight.
“Maybe we’ve been a little bit too nice, maybe it’s time to bring out the spice,” Lol teases.
