The Montreal Canadiens have just announced a contract extension for one of their forwards.

Immediately after last night’s big win against the Ottawa Senators, the Canadiens organization announced that they have agreed on a two-season contract extension (2025-2026 to 2026-2027) with forward Lucas Condotta.

See the official statement:

When I started reading the statement, I thought the Habs were going to announce a contract extension for Joel Armia or Christian Dvorak, but we are still very happy for Condotta, who absolutely deserves it.

A two-year contract extension for Lucas Condotta with the Montreal Canadiens

Condotta, 27 years old, has accumulated 23 points in 50 games this season with the Laval Rocket, and one point (1 goal) in seven games played with the Montreal Canadiens.

He is highly appreciated within the organization.

“General manager of the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club, Kent Hughes, announced Wednesday that the team has agreed on the terms of a two-season (2025-2026 to 2026-2027) two-way contract extension with forward Lucas Condotta.”

In his career, Condotta has recorded two points in 11 NHL games.

It is also worth noting that, quietly, Condotta is still the captain of the Laval Rocket, so he plays a key role within the Canadiens organization.

He also remains a valued call-up option for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.

More details to follow.
