Whether you’ve been together for years or you only recently started dating, The Block is known for putting couples’ relationships to the test. This has certainly been the case for House 2’s Han and Can, who were shown arguing at the end of Wednesday night’s episode while trying to paint their main bedroom and walk-in-robe.
The West Australian couple, who met just over a year ago online, have had a difficult start to the competition, with an unfinished room in week one and Han’s hospitalisation in week three. While they won for their main ensuite last week, they’ve recently been struggling with their communication.
“Honestly, I’m never gonna watch this show back if it’s just gonna be you yelling at me. Why are you talking to me like this?” Can asked, to which Han replied, “Because you’re not listening to me.”
The pair, seemingly unaware that there was a GoPro set up in their room, were caught in a fiery disagreement about whether they should paint or caulk first.
“Han, can you just start painting? I just want to get it done, Han, that’s all,” Can requested, while Han responded, “No, there’s a lot of caulking to do around this fireplace.”
“Why don’t you listen to me?” Can said, with Han repeating, “Why don’t you listen to me? It’s different in each area; you need to caulk that before you paint it, alright? Trust me. Listen to me now.”

How The Block impacted Han and Can’s relationship
Many fans have since taken to social media to call out the couple’s communication style, with some even questioning whether they’ve stayed together since filming the show earlier this year.
However, Han and Can tell Yahoo Lifestyle that their experience on The Block actually brought them closer as a couple, rather than driving them apart.
“The Block really tested us but also made us stronger, as individuals and as a couple,” they share. “We learned how to back each other completely, step up when the other was running on empty, and still find ways to laugh when everything felt chaotic.
“Our motto was always, ‘I’ll be 90 per cent when you’re at 10 per cent’, and that carried us through. The 12 weeks honestly felt like 12 years, but in the best way. It gave us a deeper understanding of each other and accelerated our relationship in such a positive way.”
Han and Can’s biggest surprise filming The Block
Han shares that although she’s always wanted to compete on The Block, she didn’t expect the experience to take such an “emotional toll” on her.
“We thought we knew what to expect, long days, cameras everywhere, but the reality was ten times more intense. No days off, zero privacy, and the pressure of making huge decisions on the fly,” she details.
“What surprised us most was how much it pushed us personally, not just as renovators. But the flip side is, we came out stronger as a couple, and so proud of the home we built. The friendships, the growth, and the memories are things we’ll carry forever.”

Sunday night’s episode will see the teams adding the finishing touches to their main bedrooms and walk-in robes, before the judges share their thoughts.
“It sings, it’s celestial,” Shaynna Blaze says in a teaser for the room reveals, while Marty Fox bluntly declares in another room, “I hate it”.
