Yesterday afternoon, while the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Florida Panthers was basically over, Niko Mikkola made a ridiculous move.
He took a dangerous and unnecessary slap shot, at head height, and hit David Savard.
In short, you all know Arber Xhekaj well, he already has a plan in mind to send a message to Mikkola, but will he get the chance to put that plan into action?
That’s the question!
Will Arber Xhekaj be inserted into the lineup by Martin St-Louis tomorrow?
We’ll have to wait and see since the Canadiens’ practice was canceled this morning:
But I can’t wait to see!
Especially since Xhekaj was just removed from the lineup, he’ll clearly want to prove his worth and send a strong message.
“Tuesday, let’s hope Arber Xhekaj is back in the lineup and gets the crowd going with a little dance with Mikkola.”
– Raphaël Simard, DLC
It would definitely be a great opportunity for the Sheriff to remind his head coach just how unique and valuable he is as a player.
There’s one question that keeps coming up since yesterday afternoon.. Would Mikkola have made the same frustrated move if Arber Xhekaj had been on the ice in front of him?
Mikkola is 6-foot-6 and a tough matchup for David Savard or even Michael Pezzetta, which is why The Sheriff could be inserted into the lineup.
That said, Mikkola isn’t exactly a big-time fighter. He only has six NHL fights under his belt.. but that number could become seven tomorrow night.
One thing’s for sure-the stage is truly set for Tuesday, for a second straight game against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, but this time, at home and live from the Bell Centre.
