“Now that it’s out she’s just focused on what’s ahead.”

Days after the news of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s split broke, a source has revealed how she is really feeling about it all.

A source close to the family has claimed that she’s looking to the future.

“She’s been stressed because she knew the separation would eventually become public and she was dreading it,” the source told PEOPLE.

“But, she’s surprisingly level-headed and calm. Now that it’s out, she’s just focused on what’s ahead and her girls.”

Another source previously told the publication that Keith’s inner circle was not surprised by their split.

One said it “really hasn’t been a secret”, given the couple has been living apart since June.

“People close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable,” the source said.

PEOPLE confirmed that the actress filed for divorce on September 30 in Nashville, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

She listed their separation date as the date of filing.

What is at stake in Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce?

Since the filing was made, TMZ has also revealed more details about the couple’s plans, including their parenting arrangement for their daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

According to the outlet, which referenced the filing, the Oscar winner wants “primary residential parent of the minor children”, where their girls will spend 306 days with Nicole, and 59 with Keith.

Both stars waived any spousal and child support, but there is allegedly a clause stating Keith has “prepaid child support obligations”.

A source also told TMZ that Nicole abruptly made the filing, but signed the document with their arrangements on September 6, with Keith signing it on August 29.

The publication also claimed the couple have appeared to agree to take co-parenting classes.

Why did Keith Urban leave Nicole Kidman?

TMZ was the first outlet to report the news, with sources telling the publication that the pair had been living separately “since the beginning of summer.”

According to the outlet, the Aussie actress did not want to split and tried to save their marriage.

One source said she was “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone”.

“Keith has acquired his own residence in Nashville and has moved out of their family home,” another source said.

Page Six also cited a source saying that she felt “betrayed” by Keith’s decision, with another telling The Daily Mail that their clashing schedules led to a breakdown in intimacy.

“Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour,” the source said.

“There was a lot of love between the two … They [have] been together for decades so there is a world in which they can reconcile, but the way their pairing is now, they are not a couple.

“The intimacy isn’t there; they are just going through the motions [of being married]. If this separation gets them back together, that would be amazing, but Keith had to call her out that he isn’t happy.

“She was blindsided, but we shall see how things go during the holiday season and his upcoming birthday [next month]. They have some work to do.”

On September 29, another source told PEOPLE that she was devastated.

“Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another,” they said.

“She didn’t want this. She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

When did Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban get married?

Nicole and Keith tied the knot on June 25, 2006, at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in Sydney.

“I remember being in Sydney and driving down the street, and I was with my dad, who’s obviously not around now, and he was in the car with me… We were driving to the church and there were so many people on the street, sort of celebrating us,” she exclusively told PEOPLE in honour of the publication’s 50th anniversary.

“It was just one of the most emotional things in my life… It really was an extraordinary day.”

They welcomed their daughters, Sunday Rose in 2008, and Faith Margaret in 2010.

Before the news of their separation broke, there was speculation about their relationship, following the Moulin Rouge star’s submission of an application to seek residency in Portugal, which did not include Keith’s name on the paperwork.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to E! News that Keith wasn’t on the official forms, but planned to join her.

At the time, the source said he was not on the paperwork due to scheduling conflicts with his tour.

What did their friend Richard Wilkins say?

After the initial split announcement was made, Richard Wilkins, who is friends with them both, shared his thoughts.

“I’ve known Keith and Nicole for 40 years,” he said on Channel Nine’s Today Extra with hosts David Campbell and Renee Bargh.

“I was MCing at the G’day USA event where they met all those years ago and have become increasingly close to the couple in recent times.

“They’re both very treasured friends of mine, and I love them both very dearly. I have nothing to add to this story.

“They’ve never commented on any of my circumstances over the years, and I’m not going to comment on theirs.”
