It’s anything but wholesome.

Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 Clarette Farmer Thomas

Former FWAW contestant Daisy Lamb is “worried” for the current Farmer Wants A Wife 2025 Ladies after seeing how much impact producers have on storylines. Daisy, who is still happily with Farmer Todd, has been outspoken about her “villain edit” from 2024 and is concerned for the well-being of current and future contestants.

She tells Chattr the producers on her season were “hot off MAFS” and were “pretty open about chasing storylines”. Not exactly what you’d expect from the most wholesome reality TV show in Australia!

“The drama does sell, so people tune in and they need someone to love and they need someone to hate,” Daisy explains. “On our farm, the producers sort of gave Grace the angel edit, and they gave me the villain edit just purely because I was more outspoken, and I would be the one to actually say how I’m feeling and how that sort of affected me.”

She recalls crying during every episode that aired in 2024, and said it was an “awful” time. “It was not only awful for me, but awful for our friends, awful for our family, awful for Todd, because that’s not who we are,” she says. “I got sucked into a rabbit hole… because I’m part of all the groups. And you do, you sit there, and you read about yourself, and you think, is that actually true?”

Daisy believes the “duty of care is null and void” when it comes to production on Farmer Wants A Wife, and this concerns her, especially when she’s seeing contestants like Clarette on Farmer Thomas’ farm receiving the same “villain edit”.

“[Production doesn’t] care. They care about the storyline, they care about the edit, and they care about views,” she claims. “I think I just worry about the next women on the show and a lot of them do reach out to me, because I have been quite outspoken.”

“[Production is] really, really big on protecting Farmer Wants A Wife, but they’re not big on protecting their cast members, I suppose, which is a real shame.”

Farmer Wants A Wife’s Farmers don’t have as much at stake as the Ladies

It’s true that on Farmer Wants A Wife, it tends to just be women who receive “villain edits”, and the Farmers can usually do no wrong. They’re the heroes of the story, after all.

“If couples don’t work out, the Farmers, they go back to their life, they don’t really lose much, but it’s the women who have sacrificed so much that they lose everything,” Daisy explains. “There’s so much pressure, I suppose, for the women on the farm from all of Australia… [The Farmers] get put in this beautiful light. You know, it’s their love story. They’re trying to look for someone. It’s just that women that unfortunately, like, we get chucked into this like, demon light.”

Daisy tells us she’s so outspoken and shares spoilers about the show to try and put a dent in ratings, so producers will have no choice but to go back to a more wholesome format, which was a lot nicer than the MAFS-styled format today.

“They started chasing ratings, and they started chasing drama… so they’re running off a high and thinking [everything is] okay, even though there’s been several complaints throughout filming,” she says. “I have no loyalty to them at all anymore.”

We’ll have to wait and see if there are any changes to Farmer Wants A Wife in the future, but it sounds like that would be a positive shift.
