The Block has come a long way over 22 years and 21 seasons.
In Episode 16, Scott Cam pointed out that this year’s Blockheads are building Main Bedroom suites with a 50 square metre floorplan.
That’s compared to Season 1 of The Block where the entire house the first contestants were renovating had a floor plan of 70 square metres.

From layouts to locations, it’s safe to say the hit reno show has gotten bigger and better over the years.

What has the budget on The Block been like?
Back in Season 1, the contestants had a budget of just $40,000 for their whole renovations.

In 2025, the teams have a total budget of $250,000 and a $40,000 PowerPass from Bunnings to renovate their houses.
The 2025 budget is looking pretty generous now. (Nine)
Of course that’s not including cash prizes won along the way.
Where else has The Block been located?
This year, The Block is calling Daylesford, the cozy spa town in country Victoria, home.
While Melbourne and its surrounds have housed The Block for over a decade now it wasn’t always that way.
