Leave it to the Bachelor franchise to keep things interesting. Every season delivers its own spectacle, and this time, it’s introducing a whole new age group.
Australia’s first Golden Bachelor is about to hit our screens, serving up second chances, “boomer power” and a whole lot of heart.
Hosted by Samantha Armytage, the series introduces us to Bear – a Canadian-born widower with three grown sons, looking for love 14 years after losing his wife to cancer.
Speaking on the Chrissie and Browny radio show, Sam put it best: “This is the show we never knew we needed. I love a bit of Boomer love, it’s what we’re all about right now. Let’s take Pam Anderson and Liam Neeson as inspiration for what’s coming with The Golden Bachelor very soon.”
A sentiment that feels like a wholesome addition to a franchise that has long been focussed on younger, twenty-somethings.
Naturally, fans have been waiting with bated breath for any hint of the cast. While past Bachelor seasons have produced media personas worth their salt, including podcasters (Abbie Chatfield) and fitness gurus (Sam Wood), this edition brings a whole new calibre of star power.
With age comes gravitas, and the 20 women stepping into the mansion have it in spades.
They’ve faced heartbreak, loss, motherhood and triumph, and are now ready to put it all on the line for a chance at love with Bear. From doctors and teachers to CEOs, singers and even an NICU nurse, this line-up is packed with impressive women (and a few familiar faces) all vying for roses.
Below, meet the women of The Golden Bachelor Australia.

When she’s not at the theatre or on the golf course, Angela is happiest unwinding in her bathrobe at home with her King Charles Cavalier.
Behind the heels and blazers is a romantic with old-school values and a modern mindset, and she admits she’s a sucker for an accent.
Bianca
Radio personality Bianca Dye, 51, has been making Australia laugh for over three decades, winning multiple awards for her on-air wit.
The daughter of rock star Issi Dye, she’s carved out her own identity in the entertainment world while caring for her elderly mother.
Passionate about yoga, meditation and tarot, Bianca has weathered heartbreak, miscarriages and more than a few red flags. But she’s still hopeful, and says she’s looking for kindness, compassion and humour in a partner who will love her for who she truly is.
Catherine
At 56, Catherine is an interior designer with a competitive streak and a flair for reinvention.
Twice married, she spent over two decades living across Europe with her second husband before finding herself single again in her fifties.
To rebuild her confidence post-divorce, she took up bodybuilding and proved that age is no barrier to ambition.
Catherine says her proudest achievement is motherhood, but she still believes in her own fairytale ending, and she’s ready to embrace love with an open heart.
Elizete
Property manager Elizete, 54, calls herself a “warrior princess” and with very good reason.
Born in the jungles of Brazil and now based in Sydney, she’s built a successful career and life entirely on her own terms.
Fiercely independent and passionate about dance, she admits men can be intimidated by her confidence.
After romances with partners both younger and older, she’s searching for someone tall, athletic and strong enough to match her fire.
Gera
At 52, Gera is co-owner of a thriving commercial real estate business in Perth and a proud Greek-Macedonian.
She’s vivacious, ambitious and says she wants to prove you can still be sexy and successful after 50.
She embraced independence after an 11-year marriage, but now wants someone to share life’s adventures.
From yoga to hikes and 20-kilometre runs, Gera is looking for a partner who shares her love of fitness, family and ambition.
Hamidah
Disability support worker Hamidah, 60, is undeniably a cheeky addition to the mansion, warm and resilient, with a passion for turning tough situations into moments of laughter.
She grew up in a difficult environment, learning early to stand strong and carve her own path.
A devoted mum and grandmother, Hamidah says family is her greatest joy.
Now, after three marriages, she jokes her daughter might end up with “another dad”, but she’s ready for a love that treats her like a queen.
Jan
At 66, Jan is an age transformation coach who has built a career helping women rediscover their confidence.
She describes herself as “elegant, independent and deeply romantic”, proof that age really is just a number.
Heartbreak and years of self-discovery have only made her more determined to find true love.
Selective about who she lets into her inner world, Jan is looking for a partner who values honesty, loyalty and shared adventure.
Jane
Interior designer Jane, 60, has lived a life full of adventure and reinvention, from her early days as a flight attendant travelling the world to building a successful design career back home.
Charismatic and hopeful, Jane still believes in the magic of love despite past heartbreak.
She says she’s looking for old-fashioned romance and a deep emotional connection with someone who sees love as a true partnership.
Janette
At 61, Janette is the proud owner of a Pilates studio on the Mornington Peninsula. A devoted mum and grandmother, she’s known for her warmth, quiet confidence and passion for health and fitness.

Now she’s ready to find a partner who shares her zest for adventure, her love of animals, and her belief in soulmates.
Katrina
NICU nurse Katrina, 55, is fun, gregarious and larger-than-life, with a wicked sense of humour that her two daughters love and sometimes find embarrassing.
She’s dedicated her life to caring for very sick babies, and says it’s time to care for her own heart.
Married for over 24 years, Katrina knows what deep love looks like and when it’s time to walk away.
Now she’s ready for a partner who brings laughter, kindness and plenty of spark to her next chapter.
Kim
At 60, Kim is a doctor, mother of five and twice-widowed survivor who has faced profound loss with extraordinary resilience. A former military doctor, she has lived all over the world and raised her children as a tight, supportive team.
Fearless and adventurous, Kim has even raced her Porsche on the track. Now she dreams of a deep connection built on laughter, trust and shared adventure, a love story as extraordinary as her life.
Laura
Best known as Abbie Chatfield’s mum, Laura, 64, is a vivacious primary school teacher with a cheeky sense of humour and a big heart. After 30 years raising her two daughters largely on her own, she says it’s finally her time to find love again.
Twice married, Laura knows exactly what she wants in a partner: someone kind, emotionally present and fun-loving. She’s bubbly, warm, and ready to write her own love story — not just watch her daughter’s unfold on TV.
Lauren
Lauren, 60, manages an elite dressage team while caring for her horses, rescue dog and exotic birds on a sprawling property. Confident and driven, she’s also raised over $100,000 for charity.
Twice betrayed in love, she says she’s determined to find someone who values loyalty and adventure. While she often attracts younger men, Lauren is now looking for someone truly on her level.
Linda
At 61, stylist Linda has made a career of helping other women feel fabulous. Bubbly, tall and effortlessly charming, she’s entering what she calls her “year of yes”, ready for new adventures and new love.
A mother of three and grandmother of four, Linda has faced heartbreak and grief but says she’s stronger for it. Playful yet grounded, she’s hoping to find her true “ride or die.”
Nicolette
Singer-songwriter Nicolette, 55, is a fearless performer who has lived her life on stage and on her own terms. Twice married, she became a single mum in her late 40s and says her seven-year-old son is the love of her life.
She admits she’s worried men her age may not want to take on a woman with a young child, but Nicolette knows what she deserves. Bold, sassy and passionate, she won’t settle for anything less than fireworks.
Pip
Pip, 60, swapped graphic design for heavy machinery and is thought to be the only female hoist operator on an Australian construction site.
A mum of three, she reinvented her life after leaving both her marriage and career.
Creative and a little quirky, Pip loves travel, theatre and daily walks. She describes herself as a hopeless romantic and says she’s ready to share her “third act” with someone adventurous and kind.
Shamse
Interior designer Shamse, 60, was born in Bangladesh, raised in Canada and now calls Melbourne home. A mother of four and grandmother of five, she describes herself as bold, passionate and deeply family-oriented.
Having experienced both great love and heartbreaking loss, she’s ready to open her heart again.
Competitive in lawn bowls and devoted to her grandkids, she wants a partner with fire in his soul.
Shana
At 60, Shana describes herself as warm, loving and a little fiery. Born in Serbia and raised in Sydney, she’s experienced marriage, separation and loss, but says she’s ready for her next chapter.
Extremely close with her daughter, she’s proud of the strong bond they share. A social butterfly who loves staying active, Shana is looking for a partner who values connection, respect and emotional depth.
Sunny
Sunny, 58, is the founder of her own IT firm and a breast cancer survivor who has rebuilt her life with determination. Originally from Korea, she moved to Australia in her 20s and has built success from the ground up.

Terri
At 61, Terri is a property investor who describes herself as confident, kind and adventurous. Her strength was tested when she discovered her husband’s infidelity through their children, but she’s turned heartbreak into hope.
