Missing Nova Scotia kids Stepfather talks about the children’s mother (Lilly and Jack Sullivan)

So, there is no new real information coming out about what happened to Lily and Jack Sullivan or where Lily and Jack Sullivan might be. They went missing in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, on May 2nd, 2025. Today is June 5th, 2025.

And there has been nothing provided by RCMP or investigators about what happened to Lily and Jack Sullivan, or where they believe Lily and Jack Sullivan might be. Hopefully, they know more than what they’re putting out publicly, and they just want to keep their investigation private until they’re ready to announce what they know. I sure hope that is the case.

Recently, CTVNews.ca posted a new article about the situation, and it has a new quote from the children’s stepfather, Daniel Martell. Here’s what the article states:

“The stepfather of two missing children in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, is asking people to stop attacking their mother online as he tries to remain hopeful the siblings will be found safe.”

He states:

“It doesn’t get any easier. One month has passed,” Martell says. “The grief is overwhelming and only made worse by online speculation about what happened to six-year-old Lily Sullivan and four-year-old Jack Sullivan—especially when I have one child who still lives with her mother. Put your focus around the mother and towards the kids,” he said. “Don’t attack the mother, because her mental health is going to be reflected on our daughter. So I don’t want anyone attacking Lily and Jack’s mother anymore.”

It is believed that the Sullivan children wandered away from their home in Lanstown Station, Nova Scotia, on the morning of May 2nd. Their disappearance has stunned the community, with dozens of people coming together for a candlelight vigil in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, on Monday evening—which was just a few days ago.

Martell attended the event, saying it brought out many emotions. They had some RCMP speakers and people from the community. There was even one guy who drove all the way from Sheet Harbour to come up and show his respect. So I appreciate that.

The children’s mother did not attend the vigil.

Pictou County Warden Robert Parker says he understands a vigil may seem premature to some, but he feels it shows how deeply the community cares about Lily and Jack.

“I always thought that perhaps it was a little early, and perhaps it would show that we were sort of accepting the inevitable—and maybe we have to. But I think there was still hope here. I don’t think they were giving up,” said Parker. “What else can you do? It’s a way they can show their emotion—the best they can—and that we haven’t forgotten.”

So, today’s Thursday, June 5th, 2025. They had that vigil on Monday, just a couple of days ago. It states the mother did not attend, but the stepfather did attend. And there’s no reason to speculate or anything like that about why the mother didn’t attend. Maybe it’s too hard for her—nobody really knows anything.

There’s a ton of online speculation out there, but I don’t ever plan to go over the speculation, the rumors, or anything like that in these videos. Because if they turn out not to be true—and most of them, especially in situations like this, do turn out not to be true—then you have harmful information out there forever about something that just didn’t take place.

So until things are 100% and fully concrete about what actually happened to Lily and Jack Sullivan, I’m not going to talk about the rumors, the speculation, or everything you read online. There’s so much of it—and some of it is obviously very ridiculous—but some of it, I mean, you could definitely see how some of it may or may not be true.

But I’m not going to talk about what may or may not be true. I’m just going to go by what is being reported as fact.

And right now, that’s nothing. There’s absolutely no information out there being reported about where Lily and Jack Sullivan might be or what happened to them.

Hopefully, at the end of the day, when all is said and done, Lily and Jack Sullivan are somehow found safe and sound and are returned home to family, friends, and loved ones.
