Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki shared an interesting statement with us.
Following the big overtime win by the Canadiens last night, he had plenty to say about his young goalie Jakub Dobes.
« He (Jakub Dobes) is the reason we won there in overtime.
You know, those big saves.
We got kinda caught out there.
He bailed us out..
He’s got a lot of confidence.
He was itching to play at the Bell Centre. He had his big moment.»

This must mean so much to the young Dobes, hearing comments like that from his new teammate and captain, especially considering what we reported earlier today: Dobes’ dad was in attendance at yesterday’s game after 18 months of not seeing him.

Let’s remember that Suzuki, who rarely spoke about goaltenders in the past, also made a big statement about Samuel Montembeault in recent hours.
