TV travel presenter Dave Whitehill and his businesswoman wife Christie have quietly called time on their 11-year marriage.

The couple, who tied the knot in Bali in 2014, confirmed their breakup to Daily Mail in separate statements on Friday.

‘It’s an interesting time for us at the moment, just navigating this new chapter of life. We are both very amicable about the situation and have done a lot of personal work on understanding where we are at, not casting blame on each other,’ Dave began.

‘Our number one priority is our kids and them feeling safe and happy, which I think is the most important thing in life. We are working hard to grow from this and work together as a family in this new chapter.’

Christie echoed Dave’s sentiments in her own statement.

‘Obviously, these decisions don’t come lightly. We both did our best to make it work, especially for our kids, but ultimately we grew apart,’ Christie said.

‘Our focus now is on maintaining a strong friendship and co-parenting our two beautiful children with love and respect.’

Dave and Christie first met by chance on a street in Burleigh on the Gold Coast.

Christie has built a thriving career as co-founder of the wellness brand INTU WELLNESS, which she runs with close friend Anna Heinrich.

The pair also co–host the popular podcast In Your Skin, where they discuss everything from healthy living to spirituality.

Dave, meanwhile, remains one of Australia’s most recognisable travel presenters.

A former Cleo Bachelor of the Year (2001), he’s appeared on programs including Mornings with Kerri–Anne, Just For Laughs, Hot Source, Today and Getaway.

The couple’s 2014 wedding, held at the Jeeva Klui Resort in Lombok, took place beside an infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean – the same spot where Dave had proposed two years earlier.

Before finding love with Christie, Dave dated bikini model and Neighbours star Imogen Bailey.

Dave and Christie share two children, Zac and Ava.

The host of the Foxtel travel series Escape first met his wife in Queensland in 2009, and they dated for five years before marrying in a stunning Indonesian ceremony.

Proceedings very nearly came to a halt when Christie realised she had misplaced her three–carat diamond engagement ring.

The ring was ultimately found in the couple’s hotel room, and the rest of the nuptials went off without a hitch.

Following their wedding, the couple ventured to Europe for their honeymoon.

The former couple still follow each other on Instagram.
