Michael Brunelli has launched a searing counter-attack on a social media follower who labelled his two-year-old son Lucius ‘overweight.’

Michael and his partner Martha Kalifatidis welcomed Lucius to their family in February 2023 and he regularly features in their online content.

The former MAFS groom-turned-influencer, who rose to fame on season six of the hit dating show, did not mince his words in an Instagram post shaming the woman who made the comment.

Sharing a photo of himself cuddling his toddler Lucias, Michael screenshotted the comment which read: ‘You might want to watch his weight. Looks overweight to me.’

Michael shared the post with a ‘Swipe across’ caption, as the fitness trainer directed his 328,000 followers to read an angry missive.

‘Imagine looking at a photo of a toddler and thinking the best course of action is to comment “better watch his weight”,’ Michael fumed in his response.

‘That’s not concern,’ the father-of-one wrote. ‘That’s real-life brain rot.’

‘If you’re wired to see a happy, healthy two-year-old and think “fat”, you shouldn’t be around children.’

‘Get help. Touch grass. Drink some water,’ Michael told the troll.

‘And keep your projections the f**k away from mine.’

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Michael for comment.

‘Imagine body shaming a literal f**king two-year-old. What’s wrong with the world? Bubba is happy and healthy and absolutely f**king gorgeous!’ the top comment on the post reads.

‘While touching grass, please eat dirt,’ a second commenter told the troll.

‘Some people are disgusting. My daughter and I are obsessed with how gorgeous your son is! Well replied, too,’ a third wrote.

One follower told the dad that when they see photos of Luci with his parents, ‘I see love. I see joy. I see beauty.’

‘Has to win the dumbest comment on the internet today,’ concurred another.

Just last month, Michael shared an emotional update with fans about the personal toll that parenthood has taken on his mental and physical well-being.

Michael revealed in a raw Instagram post that despite loving life as a dad, he no longer recognises the person he’s become.

‘As cliché as it sounds, I looked in the mirror today and barely recognised the guy looking back,’ the 33-year-old began in his vulnerable message, adding, ‘Not because there’s anything seriously wrong with me, but I finally accepted that I’m not where I should be… physically and mentally.’

Michael, who found lasting love with fiancée Martha Kalifatidis on the show, admitted that he’s been stuck in survival mode and has neglected his own health and happiness while focusing on being a parent.

‘My gym bag has dust on it, the veggies in the fridge are untouched, and the steps haven’t cracked 10,000 in months,’ he said. ‘It’s like I’m physically here, but in a thousand other places mentally.’

While he’s struggling behind the scenes, Michael made it clear that fatherhood remains his proudest role.

‘Being a dad is a massive part of my purpose,’ he said.

‘But somewhere in the life noise, the pressure, the lack of sleep, the negative thoughts… I stopped being much else.’

The former PE teacher said a scroll through his old photos was a ‘wake-up call to start living healthier again.’
