As reported by the excellent journalist Stu Cowan, a cancellation has indeed been announced for the Montreal Canadiens.

The team was supposed to practice today in preparation for tomorrow night’s game against the Florida Panthers, but it has all been canceled.

“The Canadiens have canceled the practice scheduled for Monday morning at the CN Sports Complex in Brossard.

Day off for the players.

The Canadiens will face the Florida Panthers Tuesday night at the Bell Centre.”

Martin St-Louis is therefore prioritizing rest over practice for his players.

Practice Canceled for the Montreal Canadiens Today

So we clearly won’t be getting any updates until tomorrow, particularly regarding the status of Arber Xhekaj and Joshua Roy, who were scratched for yesterday’s game in Florida.

I’m really curious to see what Martin St-Louis does with the lineup tomorrow, especially considering the team won with Michael Pezzetta in the lineup.

Sure, Pezzetta only played 5 minutes and 43 seconds, but St-Louis still chose him over Joshua Roy, so it’s not out of the question that he’ll be dressed again tomorrow.

The action resumes tomorrow for the Montreal Canadiens, and until then, we’ll be keeping an eye on the likely imminent signing of goaltender Jacob Fowler, who was eliminated last night in the NCAA.

It’s expected to be announced either today or tomorrow.

In any case, in Lane Hutson’s case, it was announced the day after his elimination.

With Jakub Dobes’ shaky performance recently, could Fowler get two or three starts in Montreal this season?

Details to follow.
