We have a last-minute announcement involving goaltender Samuel Montembeault.

It has just been confirmed.

The Montreal Canadiens’ number one goaltender, Samuel Montembeault, is officially dealing with a serious injury.

It looks like a hamstring Injury for Samuel Montembeault

His game is over, according to what Elliotte Friedman just mentioned on Sportsnet.

It looked like Sam Montembeault pulled his left hamstring in pain before he left to the Habs dressing room

Jeremy Filosa just provided more details, and it’s even more concerning.

It’s unfortunate, because Montembeault was once again having an outstanding game.

He’s probably been the Montreal Canadiens’ best player since the start of the playoffs.

Montembeault started feeling discomfort after the Caps’ second goal, and unfortunately, we know the rest.

Judging by Filosa’s comments, it’s not looking very good, and it’s really unfortunate.

Montembeault made 11 saves on 13 shots tonight, and hopefully Jakub Dobes can hold down the fort.

We’ll keep you updated, but don’t be surprised if Dobes also has to play the next game.

Until then, let’s all send our support to our goalie Monty.

UPDATE

Montembeault is officially ruled out of tonight’s game.

More details to follow.
