Nick Cousins’ name is echoing through Montreal today, and not for the reasons any player hopes for.
After a controversial incident on the ice last night involving Ivan Demidov, the Ottawa Senators center has triggered a storm of reactions both in the NHL and across social media.
But while Cousins has built a reputation for boasting about his aggressive plays, his response this time has taken an unexpected turn—one that has left fans and insiders scrambling for answers.
Instead of fueling the fire, Cousins has suddenly pulled back from the public eye, making his Instagram account private and leaving behind a trail of speculation.
What’s really going on behind the scenes? Is the pressure too much, or is there more to his silence than meets the eye? With emotions running high and the league already handing down a sanction, the story is far from over.
Rumors of on-ice retribution and locker room tension are swirling, and many believe the next showdown between the Canadiens and Senators could be explosive.
As the drama unfolds, one thing is certain: there’s much more to this saga than a single hit, and fans won’t want to miss what happens next.

Nick Cousins’ name is everywhere in Montreal today, after the act he committed last night against young Ivan Demidov.
It’s an act that earned him a sanction from the National Hockey League.
And it’s also an act that unfortunately brought him many very direct comments on social media.
Cousins has never been afraid to “brag” about this kind of hit on his various pages, but this time, he reacted quite differently.

This time, Cousins clearly wants peace.
He immediately decided to make his Instagram profile “private,” among other things.

Let me remind you that I find the ACT completely cowardly and stupid, and to be honest I’m not much of a fan of Nick Cousins the hockey player (who has a certain history of questionable hits like this), but we also shouldn’t make it personal.
Some fans sometimes go too far when something like this happens, but in my opinion, we shouldn’t be the ones settling scores ourselves.
The scores will be settled on the ice, probably thanks to Arber Xhekaj, in the next duel between the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators.
On that subject, let’s also recall this, which explains well why Cousins was able to act so freely last night.

This will definitely be a story to follow early in the season.
