The NHL offseason is always filled with unexpected twists, and the latest developments involving the New York Islanders and Montreal Canadiens have certainly captured the attention of fans and insiders alike. In the wake of a headline-grabbing trade, speculation has reached a fever pitch as the hockey world tries to make sense of what could be a pivotal moment for both franchises.
With the Canadiens making a bold move to strengthen their blue line, all eyes have turned to the Islanders’ front office and their next steps. The aftermath of this major deal has triggered a wave of rumors and inquiries from rival teams, each hoping to capitalize on what they perceive as a potential shakeup in New York. The buzz around possible further trades has only intensified, fueling debates about the Islanders’ true intentions and the direction they might take as the new season approaches.
As the dust settles, questions remain about whether this blockbuster transaction is simply an isolated move or the first domino to fall in a series of dramatic changes. One thing is certain: the hockey world will be watching closely as the Islanders chart their course for the future.

We have some interesting new information regarding the New York Islanders, following the successful trade pulled off by the Montreal Canadiens.
After the major move executed by Kent Hughes-acquiring elite right-shot defenseman Noah Dobson-other teams quickly started calling Islanders GM Mathieu Darche, wanting to follow the Canadiens’ lead.
Wow.
Basically, other NHL teams immediately assumed that since the Islanders had traded Noah Dobson to the Canadiens, everyone on the roster might now be available.
But unfortunately for them, that was absolutely not the case.
Other Trade Offers Sent to the Islanders After Montreal’s Successful Deal for Noah Dobson
Right after the Dobson trade was announced, Mathieu Darche received offers for names like Mathew Barzal, Bo Horvat, and Jean-Gabriel Pageau.
However, the other teams weren’t as lucky as Montreal.
Let’s just say Mathieu Darche’s phone was ringing non-stop following the Noah Dobson trade.
Chris Johnston: “The Islanders had a lot of calls on Pageau, Barzal, Horvat; other teams wondered was this gonna be a selloff there; Mathieu Darche..has signalled he doesn’t wanna do that; Dobson trade wasn’t a signal of the overall direction of the team”

Interesting!
In the end, all signs point to Noah Dobson being the only major player to leave the New York Islanders this summer.
So we can expect Patrick Roy to start the upcoming season with Mathew Barzal, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, and Bo Horvat still in his lineup
