The Amazing Race host, Beau Ryan, has shared some insight into the controversy surrounding this year’s contestants, SAS Australia‘s Ant Middleton and his brother Dan Middleton, confirming that an incident with TikTok stars, Luke and Sassy Scott, was what led to their disqualification.
While The Amazing Race is known for its wholesome storylines, jam-packed with pure chaos, this year’s celebrity edition has been embroiled in controversy surrounding the disqualification of the Middleton brothers.
Months before it officially premiered in September, rumours began to swirl that the pair had copped the axe after Dan allegedly made a series of disparaging comments towards TikTokers, Luke and Sassy Scott.
At the time, a 10 spokesperson confirmed that a team was disqualified following a “breach of the production’s code of conduct”, highlighting that the incident took place “on a day off from production”.
“Network 10 takes the health, safety and well-being of all contestants seriously,” the spokesperson said.

Following Network 10’s statement, Ant told PEDESTRIAN.TV that he’s “not at liberty to any information as I had absolutely nothing to do with this situation and due to confidentiality, they’re not allowed to tell me anything”.
It’s important to highlight that Ant had nothing to do with the alleged incident.
And now, a few days after The Amazing Race: Celebrity Edition 2025 premiered, host Beau Ryan has shared some details about the Middletons’ disqualifications.

Taking to his Triple M brekky show, which he co-hosts with Cat Lynch and Aaron ‘Woodsy’ Woods, Beau confirmed that Ant and Dan had been disqualified due to a “breach of code of conduct”.
However, the host said he couldn’t comment on exactly what happened as he wasn’t present during the alleged incident.
“It was obviously a breach of the company’s code of conduct by one of the contestants, by Dan Middleton, not by Ant Middleton,” Beau shared, confirming that Ant was also not present when the alleged incident took place.
“There was an incident in the hotel around the pool area. Now, Dan Middleton was involved with the two brothers, Luke and Scott.
“The production company was made aware of it, and the network, and I woke up to the news that they were disqualified. I spoke to Ant in the morning, and then I saw both the brothers, obviously on race day.”
When asked about how the brothers reacted to the disqualification, Beau shared that Dan was “disappointed”, not only because of the incident but also because his time in the race was over.
“But our priority was Luke and Scott at the time,” Beau continued.
“Not being there, it was hard to paint a picture of what really happened.”
Beau also revealed that the alleged incident took place quite early into production, revealing that most contestants had “just met each other” ahead of race day.

“They’ve literally just met each other. Brendan Fevola, you know, he was there,” Beau continued.
“They’re all there at the hotel, you know, Fev, he’s the life of the party, he’s a good time. And I think after that moment, it sort of put everyone on notice, firstly, that you’ve got to obviously look after each other first and foremost, and secondly, that it wasn’t a holiday. People are competing. People are representing themselves, their families, their charities.”
Elsewhere in the segment, The Amazing Race host admitted that he was anxious to see the fallout of the incident.
“It was one of those ones you’re anxious to see, yeah, I was anxious to see it on air. I voiced it, obviously, earlier in the year. And, you know, a lot of it’s blown up online and social media, but the health and safety of everyone involved is our priority,” Ryan shared.
Ryan’s debrief of The Amazing Race 2025 controversy comes shortly after the TikTok stars shared a recount of the alleged incident, telling the Sydney Confidential that Dan “approached us six times, making remarks and gestures that we found homophobic, offensive, intimidatory, and disturbing”.
“Each time he (Dan) came over to us, the encounters felt increasingly more aggressive,” the pair said.
“At one point, he was right up in our faces, surrounded by some of the other cast members, who seemed to us to be as uncomfortable as we were.”
Insiders close to production claimed to both PEDESTRIAN.TV and Daily Mail Australia that Fevola was the one who stepped up for the TikTok stars, telling producers that either the Middleton brothers or he and his daughter, Leni, would walk out on the show.
At the time of writing, Dan Middleton has remained silent on the controversy.
