The upcoming NHL season is already brimming with anticipation, and one of the most intriguing storylines involves two familiar faces now set to face off as rivals.

Michael Pezzetta, once a fan favorite in Montreal, has made the jump to the Toronto Maple Leafs, signing a fresh two-year contract and turning the page on his Canadiens chapter. Despite the move, Pezzetta’s strong bonds with his former teammates remain evident, as seen in their recent off-ice interactions and lighthearted moments together.

Yet, as the hockey world looks ahead to the next heated clash between the Canadiens and the Leafs, a playful but pointed exchange between Arber Xhekaj and Pezzetta has captured everyone’s attention.

Their friendship off the ice is well known, but with both players renowned for their physical style and willingness to drop the gloves, the stage is set for a showdown that could be as entertaining as it is competitive.

With tensions rising and pride on the line, fans can expect fireworks when these two teams — and these two friends-turned-rivals — meet again.

For those who may have forgotten, let’s remember that Michael Pezzetta has left the Montreal Canadiens and is now with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He signed a two-year deal with the Leafs (worth $812,500 per year) on July 1st.

Despite that, following the wedding of Nick Suzuki and Caitlin Suzuki, Pezzetta continues to spend time with his former Montreal teammates – and it’s a beautiful thing to see.

Just last night, some Canadiens players were being interviewed by David Amber, and we got a funny moment involving none other than Pezzetta and Arber Xhekaj.

Arber Xhekaj Already Sends a Friendly Warning to Michael Pezzetta

We all know both of them can throw down when needed..

But they’re still very good friends off the ice.

That said, the stage is already set for the next showdown between Xhekaj’s Canadiens and Pezzetta’s Maple Leafs.

David Amber: “Do you have a number one rival in the NHL?”

It made us laugh! We love it!

They’re joking around, but at the same time, it’s clear things could still get physical (between Pezzetta and Xhekaj) during that upcoming Montreal-Toronto matchup.

Both guys will want to prove themselves, and honestly, it wouldn’t be surprising if they drop the gloves and go at it.

It’s shaping up to be a must-watch this fall!
