Farmer Wants A Wife runner-up Eliza has spoken out for the first time since her relationship with Farmer Tom ended on the show. Although she emerged as the frontrunner and was picked for the very first 24-hour date, the 31-year-old sheep farmer ended up choosing to pursue a relationship with her co-star Georgie.

Eliza was understandably left heartbroken and revealed on TikTok earlier this month that she “fled the country” with her best friend after filming wrapped to distract herself. Following this week’s reunion episode, however, she has been nothing but supportive towards Georgie and Tom’s relationship on social media.

The 28-year-old teacher tells Yahoo Lifestyle that she realised in the time between filming the show and watching it back on TV that Georgie was a more suitable partner for Tom.

“When the final decision came, it was tough. I needed a bit of space at first, which I think is totally natural. But it never took away from the friendship I built with Georgie. Now that some time has passed, I honestly believe she and Tom are a much better match than he and I ever were,” she shares.

“I’m so happy they found love. I really can’t think of two more genuine people who deserve it. Georgie’s going to be a friend for life. What we went through together was something really rare, and I’ll always be grateful for that.”

While Farmer Wants A Wife essentially pitted them against one another as they vied for Farmer Tom’s affections, Eliza says she feels “really lucky” to have shared the experience with Georgie.

“From the start, we always said, ‘Hate the game, not the players’,” she remarks. “We all knew what we were signing up for. It was such a unique situation where the people who had become your closest friends and support system were also dating the same person.

“But that’s what made the bond between us so strong. We were the only ones who truly understood what it felt like, and we supported each other through it all. When someone got a solo date, we’d help them with their hair, makeup, and picking an outfit. We were genuinely excited for each other. It never felt like a rivalry, just friends lifting each other up.”

This comes after Farmer Corey’s runner-up, Chloe, told Yahoo Lifestyle that although she didn’t find love on the reality show, she’s thrilled for Corey and Keeley.

“A lot of time has passed for us since filming, and it’s been really lovely seeing how all the girls have continued to support each other during and after the show,” she said.

“There’s been a lot of kind messages shared behind the scenes, and we’ve all been cheering each other on as everything’s unfolded. I’m genuinely so happy for Keeley and Corey, they’re a beautiful match and deserve all the love.”

Farmer Thomas’ runner-up Rachael also recently showed her support for Thomas and Clarette’s relationship on social media, commenting on his recent post: “So happy for you Tommy, the juice was worth the squeeze!”
