It’s been less than two months since Farmer Wants A Wife finished airing on TV, and already Channel 7 has shared details about the show’s return in 2026. The network has announced the six farmers hoping to find love in the upcoming season of the reality show, which has successfully matched 22 couples and produced 27 children since its premiere in 2007.

The new farmers include Farmer Jarrad, a 41-year-old almond farmer from Taylorville, SA, Farmer Dylan, a 24-year-old sheep farmer from Cherry Gardens, SA, Farmer Alex, a 28-year-old cattle and mushroom farmer from Kin Kin, QLD, Farmer Jason, a 37-year-old dairy farmer from Coolabunia, QLD, Farmer John, a 37-year-old cattle farmer from Mogumber, WA, and Farmer Zac, a 24-year-old apple farmer from Forest Range, SA. Single ladies looking to find their forever farmer are encouraged to apply for season 16 on the show’s website.

“I’m so ready to find love. Really hoping that the right person for me is out there somewhere,” Farmer Zac says in the first-look trailer.

“The only thing that’s missing is my special someone, and I’m hoping to find them,” Farmer Jarrad adds.

While fans have expressed their excitement on social media about the new season, many people have poked fun at the fact that Farmer Alex is a beef and mushroom farmer.

Channel 7’s announcement post has racked up plenty of comments referencing Erin Patterson, who was last month found guilty by a jury of murdering three relatives with death cap mushrooms in a beef Wellington.

“A wild time to be both a beef AND mushroom farmer,” one person wrote, while another added, “Stay away from the beef and mushroom farmer”.

“Beef and mushroom farmer! I’ve got the perfect woman for him, but she won’t be able to come to the farm for 20 to life,” a third joked, followed by someone else who replied, “She would be perfect for him. Her cooking is a bit off though”.

“Mushroom farmer… oh geez I’d be scared of his cooking,” a different user remarked, with another commenting, “Does Farmer Alex have a beef Wellington recipe?”.

Others also pointed out that for the first time, the farmers have their heights listed on their application alongside their age, location, and farming specialty.

Farmer Alex is the shortest this year at 5’9”, followed by Farmer Dylan and Farmer Jason at 6’0”, Farmer John at 6’2”, and Farmer Jarrad and Farmer Zac at 6’3”.

“Having their heights listed next to their name is hilarious,” a fan remarked, with another asking, “Why are they now showing their heights with the profile?”.

“I’ve always loved the show. It seems a bit shallow to add in the fellas’ heights though. Height shouldn’t be a prerequisite to finding a good other half,” someone else commented.

“Good to see older men and so tall,” a different user commented, while another said, “They breed them tall on the farm!”.
