Farmer Wants A Wife viewers were left heartbroken on Tuesday when Farmer Tom sent fan favourite Emma home in what many people thought was a “brutal” way. Emma appeared to be a frontrunner, so when Farmer Tom told the cameras, “Emma and I – it’s just not going to work out between us, I’m just not feeling it,” viewers were gobsmacked.

Tom told Emma, “I feel like it’s been good to get to know you, for sure, you have a lot of great qualities. But then, on the other side, I have other ladies that I’ve been getting to know, too. Yeah, I feel like I have stronger connections with some of the others.”

And while it appeared that Emma had no idea she was about to be sent home, seemingly jumping at the chance for some one-on-one time with him, she tells Yahoo Lifestyle she had a “gut feeling” her time on the show was coming to an end.

Emma tells us that while the moment looked quite “brutal” on-screen, she had an inkling it might have been coming.

“I’m pretty resilient when it comes to heartbreak and whatnot,” she tells us. “It was pretty, pretty rough, I wasn’t expecting it at that point. I kind of knew – I had a gut feeling that something was off though, I felt like it was almost like a sense of relief to kind of know, like, ‘Ok, so this makes sense now, I know something’s been off, it felt off in ways, and I just kept trying to be my best, vulnerable self.”

She continues, “But yeah, it was kind of a relief just to know, OK, that’s the closure I needed, that you’re not interested. But it was a shock and it did hurt, no one likes getting rejected.”

Explaining one of the biggest ‘signs’ that suggested Farmer Tom wasn’t interested in her Emma says, “I felt just a lack of eye contact was a big sign, and I felt like he didn’t really ask me anything about myself but he’d ask the other girls about them. But yeah, I just felt like he wasn’t reciprocating what I was giving him, and I could see that.”

She adds, “I kind of felt like sometimes I’d ask him some things and he’d shut me down. But I do also know that being an isolated farmer, it’s not easy, but I do feel like he shut me down a bit, which… that is what it is.”

“I just remember that night before I got eliminated, I just asked, ‘Had you got much work done on the farm?’ and whatnot, and it just felt like he didn’t really answer.”

However, Emma adds that perhaps he was “overwhelmed” by having the intruders there at that point.

“My opinion of Tom is that, deep down, he is a good guy, however, he’s not the guy for me, and I know that now,” Emma adds.

Emma tells us that despite the show being hard, she “wouldn’t change it for the world”, because she met so many amazing friends on the journey.

“I was just hoping to have a wholesome time, which I did,” she shares. “I was hoping to find love, which I didn’t, but I did find love in other ways, like, I’ve got amazing girlfriends now.”

“I wasn’t expecting to make such good friends out of it, to be honest,” Emma says. “I wasn’t really expecting to have such a good time. I really did enjoy myself, and I’m someone to like, make the most of every opportunity, and it’s once in a lifetime, so try to make the most of it.”

She finished by telling us, “I’m still looking for someone, so if there are any nice guys out there that see this, if you’re interested, can you hit me up?”

Through laughter, she adds, “May as well try! I’m still looking for my happy ending!”
