EXCLUSIVE: No decision was more controversial than the House Decider Challenge, where some Block teams pick and others are handed the home they’ll renovate and sell.

For Han and Can the experience was “traumatic”.

“You can see Han was absolutely gutted that we didn’t get House 1. We had dreams of doing a barn-style home with a pitched-roof,” Can began.

But nothing went to plan and the couple got their fourth pick of the bunch… and Can made the wrong call.

“I had no idea what they looked like and in the heat of the moment I picked number two and Han was in tears,” Can recalled.

After winning the challenge, Britt and Taz had the first pick of all the houses.

They shocked everyone when they skipped straight past the highly-coveted two corner block homes and secured House 3 smack bang in the middle of the street.

“It just screamed at us, we knew that exterior would go with the modern organic luxury theme we wanted to do inside the house,” Britt explained their decision.

Despite having third pick out of the group, Robby and Mat still managed to bag their first choice – House 5.
“We’re the only house with no broken views. We have heritage land and trees that are never going to get built on,” Robby boasted.

Sonny and Alicia piled in last in the challenge and were handed House 4, the only brick home.

“No matter what house we were given we were just going to make it work,” they said.
